  Description

  Hi! We're a married couple with three young boys. We live in a beautiful village on the south shore of the majestic St. Lawrence River, about a 40-minute drive from Quebec City.
  
  If you join us on this adventure, we'll provide you with a very large room with a private bathroom and a balcony overlooking the northern mountains and sunsets to the west. We'll also provide delicious meals and anything else you'd like to add to your meals, using the refrigerator we reserve for our workawayers. Breakfast and lunch are self-service, but we all eat dinner together at the table.
  .
  We primarily speak French and would prefer someone who speaks fluent French, as we'd like a caring caregiver for our 4-year-old son who has autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and only speaks French. We also speak English with our other sons, so there's an opportunity to practice your English here as well if you'd like (USA).
  
  If you have experience as a special education teacher or with children with special needs and/or disabilities, that would be a wonderful asset. But above all, we value kindness and simple, everyday support, so you don't necessarily need extensive training in autism or years of experience.
  
  From April to October, we also often need help with small, enjoyable tasks in our gardens. If you are passionate about ecology, biodiversity, sustainable landscaping, and smart family finances, you will feel right at home on our lush 60,000 square foot property filled with perennials, fruit trees, vegetable gardens, and a natural pond!
  
  We've hosted around 15 people over the past three years, and we've learned so much!
  
  If adventure inspires you and you're looking for a new challenge, get in touch and we'll have a video call if we think it would be a good fit for both of us!
  
  We prioritize longer stays (say, more than three months) but are open to stays of one month or more. For the well-being of the children (their attachment, their routine, etc.), we prefer not to host very short stays.
  
  We are a Catholic family, and faith is important to us, but we have no problem welcoming you even if you don't share our Christian faith and will always respect your freedom.

  Salut ! Nous sommes un couple mariés avec 3 jeunes garçons. Nous sommes situés dans un très beau village sur la côte sud
  du majestueux Fleuve saint-Laurent, à environ 40 minutes en voiture de la capitale et belle ville de Québec.
  
  Si tu embarques dans l'aventure qu'on te propose, nous t'offrons une très grande chambre avec salle de bain privée et balcon qui donne une vue sur les montagnes nordiques et les couchers de soleil à l'ouest. De bons repas et ce que tu voudrais pour compléter selon tes goûts avec un frigo qu'on réserve pour les workawayers. Le déjeûner (petit-déj pour les français...) et le dîner sont plutôt libres (self service) mais on prend le souper tous ensemble à table.
  
  Nous parlons principalement français et allons privilégier une personne qui parle un bon français, parce que nous souhaitons une aide bienveillante avec notre garçon de 4 ans qui est sur le trouble du spectre de l'autisme (TSA) et qui parle seulement français. Nous parlons aussi en anglais avec nos autres garçons alors il est possible aussi ici de pratiquer un bon anglais si tu le souhaites (USA).
  
  Si tu as une expérience comme éducatrice spécialisée ou avec des enfants avec besoins particuliers et-ou handicap, c'est un atout formidable. Mais nous souhaitons avant tout la bienveillance et l'entraide simple du quotidien, alors pas forcément besoin d'avoir toute une formation sur l'autisme ou des années d'expérience non plus.
  
  Du mois d'avril au mois d'octobre nous avons aussi souvent besoin d'aide pour des petites tâches plaisantes dans nos jardins. Si tu es passionnée par l'écologie, la bio-diversité, l'aménagement paysager durable et l'économie familliale intelligente, tu seras comme un poisson dans l'eau sur notre terrain luxuriant de 60000 pieds carrés de vivaces, arbres fruitiers, potagers et mare naturelle !
  
  Nous avons accueilli environ 15 personnes depuis les 3 dernières années, et nous avons appris beaucoup!
  
  Si l'aventure t'inspire et que tu veux relever un nouveau défi, contacte nous et on se fera un appel vidéo si on voit que ça peut être bon pour nous et pour toi !
  
  Nous donnons priorité à des séjours plus longs (disons plus de 3 mois) mais sommes ouverts à des séjours d'un mois ou plus. Pour le bien des enfants (leur attachement, leur routine etc.) nous ne souhaitons pas de séjours très courts.
  
  Nous sommes une famille catholique et la foi est importante pour nous, mais nous n'avons aucun problème à t'accueillir si tu ne partages pas notre foi chrétienne et respecterons toujours ta liberté.

  Help

  Helping with the children, cooking some meals, assisting with improvement projects in the yard or around the house, and helping with the gardens in the spring, summer, and fall. All this in a spirit of freedom, dialogue, and sharing. We create a weekly schedule that allows everyone to plan their activities in advance.
  
  Aider avec les enfants, cuisiner certains repas, aider dans des travaux d'amélioration sur le terrain ou dans la maison, aider avec les jardins au printemps, à l'été.et l'automne. Dans un esprit de liberté, de dialogue et de partage. Nous faisons un horaire hebdomadaire qui permet à chacun de prévoir ses activités à l'avance.

  Accommodation

  As you can see on the pictures : Private room and bathroom with balcony with one of the best view on the river and mountains of the north shore. For meals, we consider you has part of familly and usually can share together at least dinner. Of course there's no problem if you just want to eat alone or outside or in your room, you even have a little fridge, so just let us know.

  What else ...

  Québec is 40 min drive (with international airport). The Ferry from south shore to Quebec easy to reach. Nearby : islands to visit, beach to swim in the summer, we provide a bike and you can reach the beach or the marina to relax, small grocery store with basic stuff. You can use a car with licence if needed and it might be good to do that if you are mor use to a city life then a rural setting like us. Cities nearby : Montmagny, Lévis, Quebec. In the winter : country skiing and snowshoe trails at 5 min from home or directly here on our land!, and way more to discover. In march-april we tap the maple trees and make syrup at home
