Description
This is a project set up by a woman named Sao from the Hmong Community. The project is an English conversation club running 5 days a week about 4 hours a day for local children: the English Club. The club's mission is to bring English to students of minorities and to offer avid learners the privilege of having good education regardless of their social and financial status. Taking part in the English club is an opportunity for you to make differences (even small ones) for a community and change lives. Students coming to the club will be taught the correct pronunciation, get to practice their speaking and listening skills through communicating with foreigners as well as gain confidence in expressing themselves through English.
The project is located in Na Hang, Tuyen Quang in the Northeast Vietnam. It's about more than 270km from Hanoi - the capital city of Vietnam. It takes 5-6 hours traveling by bus from Hanoi to Na Hang. There are 6 buses per day.Types of help and learning opportunities

The local area is known for its natural beauty although it has few tourists as it is so hard to reach. Volunteers can explore the local countryside in their time off, either by motorbike (she is prepared to lend hers....make sure you are insured!) or trekking over the weekends. Na Hang Lake and Dream Waterfall are both famous local sites. You have amazing experiences contemplating the magnificent scenes here.
The little town has a population of about 7,000 people and has a number of small local cafes and restaurants. Wifi is available here as well as at the project office.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

ACCOMMODATION (FREE OF CHARGE)
The room that Sao can offer FREE of charge to volunteers is in the same house of her office. The house has one guest room, two bedrooms for Sao and volunteers, a share bathroom, a toilet and a small kitchen. A guest room used for teaching English. In the volunteer's room has a big bed and a bunk bed including sedge mat, blanket, and pillow. The bathroom does not include a water heater. If needed, we boil water for taking shower.
FOOD & WASHING SERVICE (FREE OF CHARGE)
Sao will provide FREE lunch and dinner meals for both female and male volunteers. The food is organic, delicious and easy to eat, mainly including fish, chicken, rice, pork, beef (not Halal killed), Vietnamese vegetables soup and sometimes, volunteers will get to enjoy wild vegetables (safe). Na Hang is a paradise of Vegans or Vegetarians because here is a tropical area where has a lot of vegetable all of the year. Vietnamese food rarely has wheat ingredient in it so most of the food is safe for people with allergy problems. Sao cooks reasonably simple meals. She will also provide a washing service for clothes for free. What else ...
