    Description

    Hello beautiful soul,

We are a small South African family currently building a new life in Hoi An, Vietnam. I am a single mom of two amazing children, aged 7 and 13, and we are moving into our own home with a peaceful ground-floor bedroom available for the right Workawayer.

I am a digital nomad and serial entrepreneur, working from home while raising my girls in a more intentional, connected, and adventurous way. We are part of a vibrant worldschooling community and are creating a home life rooted in routine, faith, learning, creativity, healthy meals, family connection, and meaningful cultural exchange.

We would love to welcome someone warm, grounded, responsible, and kind-hearted into our home — someone who genuinely enjoys being around children and is happy to become part of our everyday family rhythm.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

This is a home for meaningful exchange, not just a place to stay. You’ll experience a mix of South African family culture, worldschooling, beach-town living in Hoi An, faith, creativity, and community life.

We’d love to share family meals, stories, simple traditions, local adventures, church in Da Nang if you’d like to join, and connection with our worldschooling community. I can also share knowledge around digital nomad life, entrepreneurship, branding, and online business. In return, we’d love to learn about your culture, favourite meals, language, stories, and traditions.

  • Help

    Help

We are looking for support from Monday to Friday, from approximately 9am to 2pm.

The main areas of help would include:

    - Preparing simple, healthy family meals
    - Supporting and facilitating online learning for my 7-year-old and 13-year-old
    - Incorporating fun projects and activities to encourage connection
    - Helping us keep a calm, consistent daily rhythm
    - - Encouraging focus, routine, and structure during learning time
    - Light household cleaning and tidying in shared/family spaces
    - Joining us in simple daily meditation or quiet time
    - Being part of occasional family activities, games, beach walks, or creative moments

The children follow online curriculums, so you do not need to create full lesson plans from scratch. The role is more about helping guide, supervise, encourage, and keep things flowing in a calm and supportive way.

Experience with children, homeschooling, tutoring, education, cooking, or family support would be wonderful, but the most important thing is that you are patient, emotionally mature, trustworthy, and kind.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You will have your own private bedroom on the ground floor of our home.

Our family bedrooms are upstairs on the second floor, so there is a nice sense of privacy and space. The house is in a local community area, close to everyday life, restaurants, beach access, and the wider expat/worldschooling community.

Because meal preparation is part of the help we need, we would love someone who enjoys cooking or is at least comfortable preparing simple, nourishing meals. We are not looking for anything fancy — just wholesome, practical family food and a peaceful kitchen rhythm.

Shared meals or ingredients will be provided for the 3 meals per day.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We are approximately 7 minutes from the beach, and Hoi An’s beautiful UNESCO Old Town is nearby for exploring, cafés, markets, lanterns, local food, culture, and community life.

There are many local restaurants within walking distance, and the area offers a lovely mix of local Vietnamese life, beach living, expat connections, and worldschooling families.

You are also welcome to join us at church on Sundays in Da Nang if that feels aligned for you.

This would suit someone who wants a peaceful home base, meaningful family connection, beach-town living, and a chance to experience life in Vietnam beyond the usual tourist path.

We are looking for someone who feels like a good energetic fit for our home - someone who respects boundaries, values honest communication, and wants to contribute to a warm, peaceful, and structured family environment.

If this speaks to your heart, we would love to hear from you.
