We are a new and small beachfront jungle hostel with large ambition. We have 7 acres, a small creek running through the middle and beautiful sunset overlooking the Pacific. Myself (Maaik) and Yannick are the owners. We speak English, Dutch, French and Spanish. Our goal is to be self sustainable and enjoy what the jungle has to offer. It is a pretty big terrain so there's always work to do. Such as picking fruits, gardening, cleaning etc. If you have a proper skill to add to the hostel such as carpeting or permaculture it's preferred.

We are about 7 km from the village El Valle. So disconnecting and relaxing and is a big part of our vibe. Your Spanish will improve a lot since people don't speak English here. The Jungle is our backyard and the Pacific Ocean is our swimming pool. El valle is located in El Chocó which is an experience by itself. It's not like anything in the rest of Colombia. There is alot to feel here.
Please only apply if you have one of these skills:
Carpenting to maintain the stuctures and/or build from scratch such as tables or buildings and all in between.
Permaculture, help design the garden efficiently. We have 7 acres of jungle. Not all of it has to be touched by human hands. Just what we need to be sustainable on fruits and veggies. It's virgin jungle so again if you have proper knowledge you are welcome to help set it up.
Stone oven maker. We would like to have an oven on our beach to make our own bread, pizza, lasagne etc. We have zero experience in this so all help is welcome.
The dorm consist of 2 single beds, 1 double bed and 2 hammocks. The hammocks is for the volunteer but if there is a bed available your are most welcome to use it. There are showers and toilets just outside the dorm. Food is mostly vegetarian. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Volunteers help with cooking. Food is mostly rice, potato or pasta, with vegetables homemade bread and every now and then pizza, falafel, brownies. All organic juices fresh from the jungle.
When volunteers aren't working they can visit El Valle and Bahia Solano. There are tours available with locals who can pretty much take you anywhere you desire for a price. Places like rivers, jungle, visits indigenous communities, take a small boat visit natural hot springs. Turtles come and lay their eggs all year round. Whale watching season is from July to October. Lots of jungle animals to see for the ones who have a sharp eye. We have a motorcycle to take you to and/or from El Valle for 5000 COP.
