    Description

Dean and I have a small dairy farm in the beautiful Wairarapa. We enjoy the peacefulness of the countryside, being able to produce some of our own food, love dogs and generally living a healthy lifestyle. We have 2 grown children no longer living at home, chickens and two elderly dogs Paris and Skip.

Our farm is positioned between Carterton and Greytown and is 20mins from the Martinborough vineyards and close to the Tararua Ranges where you can enjoy bush walks. We experience cold winters and hot summers and on a clear night the dark skys are stunning.

Any tasks for Workawayers staying will be around the house and garden and not related to any business tasks.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Because farming is a 7day a week job we don't get away much so it will be wonderful to meet people from abroad and be able to share our corner of the world with you. You will be able to experience life on a dairy farm, get up close to the cows and drink as much fresh milk as you like. Our work varies day today and I work part time so we aren't able to always have regular meal times, so for this reason we are not always able to provide meals for guests. There are cooking facilities in your accommodation and some food will be provided. If you would like to cook a meal for us to enjoy together, that would be great.
