    Welcome to Shimizu city in Shizuoka prefecture!

    We are a family of six, with three sons (14, 10 and 7 years old) and a daugther (12 years old) living in a 100-year old traditional house in the city of Shimizu, near Shizuoka city and easily accessible from Tokyo by train.
    We offer a Workaway experience with help at a orange farm , maintenance of our guesthouse and many other projects!

    While staying with us, you will have the opportunity to experience Japanese lifestyle as a member of our family, and interact with the community in Shimizu through activities, festivals and volunteering . You can ask us if you have any specific request for activities that you want to experience. You will also be able to practice your Japanese and learn new skills.

    The works we order depends on season. These are example.
    Orange farm job (picking orange, cut brunch, maintanace of farm)
    Bamboo forest (Cutting bamboo, dick bamboo shoots(Takenoko))

    We are providing at least minimum wage for every hour of help. (need working visa)

    You will be able to stay in our guesthouse in your own room. The guesthouse has a common area with a kitchen and all the appliances you need to cook, three shower rooms and three restrooms. There is also a TV and some games that are available for use. Near the guesthouse, you can find a supermarket open 24/7, a convenience store and a few restaurants as well. You will be responsible for making your own food.

    What else ...

    Our guesthouse is located close to a train station which has easy access to the city center of Shizuoka as well as other cities like Fuji, Fujinomiya or Hamamatsu. We can also lend you bicycles if you wish to travel around the city. You will have the opportunity to visit a tea farm, a wasabi farm, Mt Fuji and many other things during your time off.
