    Description

Hi, my name is Pirkko, I live in the "City West" of Berlin in a 120 sqm apartment together with my partner, our teenage daughter and 2 cats.

We are looking for someone who can take care of our 2 cats while we are travelling this fall (Oct 19-Nov 8, 2026). We can accomodate from 1 to max. 4 persons (1 double bed, 1 french double bed).

Please only contact us if you are available on these exact dates 2 weeks minimum) and if you are willing to meet once by videocall in advance and in person before our departure to get the keys and detailed instructions.

🚫 Please no children under 6 years because the cats are not used to small children.
🚫 No parties, no drugs, no smoking! Please respect our space, our belongings and the neighbors.
⚠️ You should have experience with cats and their typical behaviour (they decide when and whether they want contact or not).
🏢 Our apartment is located right on Kurfürstendamm in a housing complex from the 1970ies. You find a supermarket, drug store, pharmacy and plenty of good restaurants right next door. You can explore Berlin and its outskirts with several bus lines, subway and S-Bahn from stations which are located in 2-10 minutes walking distance. The central station is app. 20 minutes by S-Bahn, the airport BER app. 70 minutes by S-Bahn.
🐱 Our cats are Juri and Zorro, 7 years old, brothers, Maine Coon/Ragdoll-mix, who live with us since they were kittens. One of them is rather shy but loves to be brushed, the other one is curious, hates to be brushed and needs medication on a daily basis (he likes his pill, so no problem at all).
The cats are easy going, used to cat sitters and we have an active cat sitting community in the neighborhood (also English and Spanish and Turkish speaking members) who know our cats and can give advice if needed.

Please write "cat hair as glitter" in your message so I know you have read everything up until here.

Berlin is definitely (still) worth a visit. It is like 12 cities in one and you can spend a whole day simply exploring neighborhoods like Charlottenburg (Asian restaurants) , Schöneberg (queer community), Prenzlauer Berg and Mitte (boho, post-gentrification), Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg (young and international), Neukölln (Arabic community).
Go to one of the museums, galleries, theaters, concert halls or visit one of the many food or flea markets. Don't miss Tempelhofer Feld and Teufelsberg with their unique historical background and urban atmosphere.

    Help

    You should...
➡️feed the cats wet food twice a day,
    ➡️give them fresh water daily,
➡️ clean their litter box once a day,
➡️ give Juri his pill once a day
➡️ accept "cat hair as glitter"
🌱 water our plants once a week
📮empty our letter box once a week
💧The apartment will be cleaned by us before our departure and we expect to find it in a similar state afterwards
