Description
Hei, I am Eva, and I moved 4 years ago from Germany to Hinnøya, Norway's biggest island, where I have a small hobby farm with some sheep, rabbits, chicken and a vegetable garden. The farm is beautifully located on a Fjord with a view over to Vesterålen.
There are many hiking opportunities nearby, just a couple of minutes by car before you can head out into the wilderness of mountains, valleys and plateaus.Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
2 workaway options available (see below):
1. From the mid/end of July til beginning/mid of August 2025, I am looking for someone to stay on my farm and look after my animals and vegetable garden while I'm on holiday.
In the morning and evening the animals need to be fed, left outside/inside, and once a week their enclosures need to be cleaned. Weather-dependent the vegetables need to be watered and weeded. Overall the help isn’t very time-consuming, so there will be plenty of time for you to enjoy the beautiful landscape of Norway’s biggest island with many hiking opportunities nearby. From my farm you can look over to Vesterålen.
During your stay, you will have your own room upstairs, and can use my kitchen and living room with TV. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy the view over the fjord from the verandah.
I will be gone for 2-2,5 weeks, but would like someone who is able to stay for a few days longer, so that for the first days I can show you the daily routine, as well as the area, before I leave.
Even though it is possible to go for hikes starting right from my farm, I would prefer to have someone staying with a car/camper. Not only will this make explore the area much easier, but also grocery shopping, as the nearest supermarket is 25 km away and the bus connection to my village very limited. The next bigger city is Harstad which is ca. 35 km away.
Hence, this farmstay might be especially interesting for someone who wants an extended break during a roadtrip or who is interested in working remotely.
2. From the end of June til the beginning of July (for ca. 1-2 weeks) I'm looking for someone who can help me with installing a new wooden floor in the guestroom and can help me with different jobs on the farm such as building and fixing fences, hay harvest, etc. I'm looking for someone who is practically skilled, physically strong and has experience with installing a floor.
As the floor of the guestroom will be renewed, it would be neccessary that you would come with a camper for accommodation. But of course you can use the bathroom, kitchen and living room of my house during your stay. We will cook together, and if you're interested I'm more than happy to show you around in the area.Languages spoken
