We are a family of five myself Louise my husband Kevin and our three boys Paul 16, Conor 13 and Gavin 10.
The three boys are very active and lots of fun. We are very lucky to live on the edge of my parents farm.
We love the great outdoors and try to spend as much time as possible outside.
We TRY to limit screen time but this doesn't always work now that the boys are teenagers and during Covid screen time was the only social interaction they had with their friends.
You would need to enjoy kids and lots of chat.
You would need to like animals as our two dogs Flash and Toby live in the house with us. It would work best if you enjoyed country life as we live on a mountain 5km from the nearest town and 60km from the nearest city.
We have been doing workaway for 5 summers now and my parents 6 summers (we have not been able to do it since the summer of 2019 because of Covid) We have many friends all over the world as a result. We feel it's our way of bringing the world to our boys. We love to share some of you culture as well as sharing ours with you.

You will experience some of the most beautiful parts of Ireland in West Cork - extraordinary views, green rolling hills and hikes in nature. As you will be living with us, you will get to experience day to day life of an Irish family and learn games, cultural traditions and even about the local sports. Our family loves travelling around and showing the boys what West Cork has to offer, and you will be able to join us on these excursions. We are big foodies and love sharing our traditional food with others and having our workaways share their traditional dishes.
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
We are currently looking for some help 5 days per week. Friday and Sunday are free. On Sunday afternoon sometimes we go out for a drive and a walk around our beautiful West Cork and you would be welcome to join us. There would be housework, cooking, some outdoor work gardening and tidying. There would be two free days in the week. The person would be free most days to but we would be hoping that they would be willing to be home when the boys get home, help with homework Monday - Thursday and get the dinner on. Saturday would be the biggest work day as we are all home and we would all work together. Everyone has their own chores in the family and we would expect the same from a workaway.
We would need someone who likes the country as its pretty remote out here. This situation would be ideal for someone who is studying as we are out of the house for 4 days from 9-3 and then the boys would be dropped home by my parents. During the holiday period there would be more hours babysitting and less hours alone. 5 hours per day is the max we would expect anyone to work.
The important thing for us is to have someone who enjoys spending time with people and is happy to join in as part of the family for the duration of their stay. This has always worked well for us and is the reason we are in touch with our workaway family today.
