    Description

Hi we have a 50 acre farm in Gippsland, 15 minutes from the beach. Accommodation is in a separate studio 100 metres from the house. There's also a caravan that needs fixing up a bit. I'm a musician and my partner is an inventor we are also both artists. We are in the early stages of planting native and exotic trees, garlic and flowers. I also stay in Melbourne town some of the week. We ask for about 3 -4 hours a day work in return for food and accommodation. We need help with weeding garlic and flower beds at the moment. We arecreating lots of raised garden beds and starting to set up a tree nursery. We have good internet and stream TV.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We take people out to local events, community meetings and dinners. We also just involve them in whatever is happenning in our life, ie going to a gig, an art exhibition, friends, film etc. We are interested in food production and nutrition, in land management.

  • Help

    Help

We currently need help moving mulch and dirt around, pruning fruit trees and creating bew garden beds. In Spring we need help weeding the garlic. We have also planted many trees and flowers and need help managing that. Everything we do is a bit of an experiment, trying to stay organic and replenish the land. There is a lot of bending involved. We have had 3 people stay so far, with different abilities and fitness. They have all really enjoyed their time and it is important to us that the person or people that come enjoy the experience.

    Accommodation

People can stay in a separate studio 100 metres from the house. It has a toilet but showers and cooking need to be done in the main house. It has reverse cycle heating, a queensize bed, room to create. There is also a caravan that needs to be fitted out. It's very comfortable.

    What else ...

We are 10 minutes drive to the nearest town, but walking that distance takes about 90 minutes. There are nearby surf beaches, markets, and small towns dotted around. We are about an hour from Wilson's Promintory. There is a bus to and from Melbourne but little other public transport. We can drive you around a bit but it's good if you either have your own car or are able to occupy yourself on the farm. We want you to be comfortable but also able to be independent. We both eat a Wahls paleo diet. We don't mind what you eat, and will go to efforts to accommodate your choices, but you may need to prepare your own meals using ingredients we supply.

We have a house with good bathroom and kitchen. We have some flat land near the house that could be used to place a van. We do get some big winds. We have a caravan onsite that is not suitable for sleeping in but has withstood all the winds and weather. We work from home a lot.
