  • Description

    Namaste Jungle Soul!
We are now only accepting volunteers in the following areas:

    - daily yoga and wellness related teaching including healthy food preparation.
    - architecture and/or industrial design.
    - photography/video experience:social media and content creation
    -Art/design/interior decoration

Please bear in mind we are a very popular destination for WA and only accept volunteers that are emotionally mature and willing to help with effort and enthusiasm, and not just looking for a place to sleep and eat for free…(we determine in the first few days if the arrangement is mutually harmonious)
After hosting many great WA, we have learned that the transformative travel experience that we offer our jungle retreat guests has also an unforgettably positive impact on our Workawayers!

    About us and Selva:
My wife Michelle is a yoga instructor and I am an entrepreneur, we are dedicated to sharing our love and passion for this unique land enveloped with a spirit of the jungle.
Along with our staff, an experienced architect, a devoted biologist/naturalist and like minded volunteers, we are committed to sharing our respect and awe for all things nature while delivering an immersion experience like no other!
We have recently finished the first stage of our forward-thinking jungle retreat and bird sanctuary built out of sustainable local bamboo (guadua).
At our jungle retreat , located in a bountiful spot along a crystal clear river near Minca, Colombia, a magical place up in the mountains not far from Santa Marta and the world-famous Tayrona National Park, home of the Kogui Indians, we deliver a cutting edge new concept of low impact transformative travel, where guests experience a dedicated and knowledgeable staff, top notch vegetarian food and jaw dropping accommodations so they can go home reconnected, recharged, deeply touched and influenced by our respectful and magical interactions with nature.
A percentage of our procedes fund future sustainable projects within the property and local projects in the town of Minca.

Where you’ll be staying and other logistics:

You will be staying at the newly built staff quarters with clean bathrooms, showers, electricity, internet (at the main house) a private kitchen all while admiring amazing views close to the river.
For meals we will provide kitchen utensils and basics such as salt and pepper for you to prepare your own, but we also offer simple, nourishing and affordable vegetarian meals at the restaurant if you don't want to cook. There are a few places in Minca where you can have your clothing washed inexpensively.
The river is just steps away and will lull you to sleep at night, and you’ll wake up to bird songs and an occasional howler monkey call!
The town of Minca is only a 15 minute walk (or a 3 minute moto taxi ride) and has great weather all year round. (It rains a lot in the rainy season but temperatures do not change)

We will share with you our experiences with permaculture and sustainability, show you how we build the bamboo towers and how we are building the new yoga Shala, and ask of you to help wholeheartedly in any way you can with all projects active at the time, you will be able to visit the river and bathe anytime, eat simple hearty vegetarian meals while enjoying this exuberant biodiverse surroundings.
Besides your specific task: yoga, art/decoration, architecture or photography/social media you will be helping with:
check in, check out, and providing general information to arriving guests, guiding them on walks through our paths and river activities (we will make sure you know the place and activities well)
Helping with planting, collecting, or general permaculture, and/or design projects such as sign making , and/or any other activity or project you will enjoy and identify with at the time.
In the evenings (when posible) we get together in our restaurant/reception area and share experiences and travel anecdotes….that’s usually a favorite time for all and where lasting friendships are born!

It would be great to hear from you,
    Write to us!
    Michelle, Ricardo, Mauricio and Katrin.
