    Description

This place opened in 2017, it consists of a large white villa situated on a massive property that is bordered by several hundred meters of river. It has utilised certain aspects to ensure everyone can enjoy a relaxed environment such as the various large hammocks and swings located around the property. The property is laid out into three levels:

Level 1 - Upon entering the property on level 1 you shall find the reception at the front of the house. There is a cool lounge area there which is a really good place to socialise with existing and arriving clients. Also on this level you will find the restaurant as well as a communal kitchen which also has a brick BBQ. Inside the house there is a television room that has access to Direct tv and also Netflix.

Level 2 - Here you will find the 30m long pool equipped with a swing rope. The bar is located next to the pool which creates a fun and social environment. Adjoining the pool is 90 square meters of decking which is a great place to sunbath, enjoy a beer/cocktail, read, play some cards, do yoga and/or meet new people. Running parallel to the pool is a custom built hammock which is where everyone tends to lay back with a good book or have a snooze in the sun. On special occasions this is the area where local bands can come and play live music for our customers.

Level 3 - Welcome to the jungle... this level contains countless fruit trees including mangos, oranges, lemons, avocados, guanamanas, pomerosas, lulos, bananas, plantanes and others. throughout the third level you will find tree swings and hammocks including a swing mounted hammock that swings over the river. With such a large property we often see toucans, hummingbirds, snakes (including Coral, snakes, fake corals, blind snakes and the world famous Fer De Lance), spiders (including Tarantulas), fire flies, armadillos and much much more. Once you finally reach the edge of the property you are greeted by several hundred meters of river.

Being such a new hostel it is important to all of the team to improve and one of the best ways to do it is to have a wide range of people from different backgrounds be involved in the project.

Currently we are doing a language exchange between staff where the Spanish and English speakers all have the chance to work together thus improving learning another language. We are always looking at becoming more environmentally friendly hence we work together with the community to recycle and re purpose anything that could get a second or even third use. The employees have experience in several areas such as eco tourism, hospitality, survival training, biology, bar tending, construction, adobe building, permaculture, indigenous medicine retreats.

  • Help

    Help

We have many departments that a volunteer could assist in, varying from providing assistance in yoga and meditacion or working on artistic, recycling, and gardening projects, language exchange, hosting fun activities, taking care of our doggies, bartending, reception and kitchen. A high value on client and worker happiness thus friendly, happy and energetic people are our target audience. Any level of Spanish is a bonus but not necessary. Having little to no Spanish actually opens up an opportunity to learn and practice by interacting with the existing staff and clients. The hostel is located in Minca which presents the opportunity to enjoy the sites and activities during your time off, such as hiking, waterfalls, bird watching, coffee tours, down hill mountain biking, zip lines, traditional medicine treatment/retreats and many more!
