    Description

Matute (female dog, 5 years old) and I live in Bensheim, Hessen. I love travelling and most of the time travel with Matute. But, unfortunately, there are also journeys I cannot take her with me. That is why I am searching for a dog and house sitter. She is perfectly educated and trained to commandos, active, playful and, most of all, absolutely lovely. Come and stay in our apartment with a stunning view on Auerbach castle and the Rhine Main area.

    READ BEFORE YOU WRITE ME:
Please don‘t contact me, if you only want a free accommodation to visit Frankfurt or Heidelberg and don‘t have any experience in dogsitting!!!
I can take Matute to my mother's house where she would be taken care of easily, but it is an hour drive and Matute doesn't like driving.

Other than that, she is an active dog and highly energetic. She needs to go out 3 times a day - one walk per day should be a minimum of 1,5 hours to get her tired. I don’t have a garden, where you can let her run free. If she goes for a walk, you need to take her on the leash and live on a busy street, which means there are cars as soon as you step out of the door. You definitely must have experience with dogs and I only want passionate dog lovers because my dog is my baby!

I will be traveling the following dates in 2025:

    18.12.2025-23.12.2025

    dates in 2026:
    - several weekends in March, April, May - I dont know the exact dates yet
    - easter 2026
    - summer 2026

You're supposed to stay in the area. Frankfurt is a 2 hours train ride away - I wouldn't want that while you are sitting Matute.

You're supposed to take care of my dog Matute while I am away on vacations and take care of the apartment.

I saved Matute from the street in Guatemala in 2019. Having lived with her there for several years, we are now back in Germany and live at the Bergstraße.

Matute is a joy! She LOVES cuddles and playing and will play with her toys. In the mornings, before heading to work, I normally take her out just quickly (6.30am). She is fed breakfast anytime between 6 and 7 and fed dinner at 6pm(ish). When I come home from work, she is normally walked a 2nd time. She is either walked twice a day (morning and evening) or just once if it is a good long walk. Other than that, she loves playing fetch in the parks and/or at home.

There are several very nice places within walking distance - you can be in the fields within 5 minutes, in the forest within 5 minutes, cafés and restaurants within 10 minutes, the city center of Bensheim within 15 minutes.

Needless to say, but perhaps of some importance: Matute is vaccinated against everything. She is also trained in German - but most of the commandos sound similar to the ones in English so that this shouldnt be a real problem. I will happily give you a list of commandos with translation if needed. ;-)

    LOCATION:
My apartment is Souterrain of a 3 parties house in a very quiet area of Bensheim, 12 minutes walking from Bensheim main station and 15 minutes walking to the city center.

    MY APARTMENT:
The apartment has 55qm, 2 rooms.

The kitchen has all it needs to be able to really live in my apartment: all necessary kitchen equipment, stove, fridge, freezer, microwave and a coffee machine.

    SURROUNDINGS:
Within walking distance, there is a super small park to be able to walk with my dog (300m), several small shops (500m), such as a bakery, a kebap, banks, several supermarkets (15 minutes walking).

GETTING AROUND: For getting around, I recommend the bus, which is safe, cheap and on time.
