  • Description

    My name is Hellen and my organisation is an NGO working with vulnerable people who are sick, helping to improve their lives through affordable herbal medicine, education, and skills training.

    Our interventions mainly focus on: herbal research and production, early childhood education (junior schools), cottage-industry-level skills training, organic farming and women empowerment.

    Volunteers will be attached to at least one of our teams running those five programs.

    Proficiency in and/or passion for any of the following areas will be most desired:
    i) Web and social media communications;
    ii) Gardening and agriculture;
    iii) Teaching - child and cottage skills training, including group dynamics;
    iv) Herbal therapies, acupuncture, and massage; and
    v) Charity fundraising.

    While here with us, volunteers will get to share experiences with a quite vibrant team of local volunteers and communities. All won't be just work! There'll be a fair balance of site seeing and exploration of a few places around here.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Volunteers will learn about traditional medicine and exchange information with our team on community transformation.

    We regularly conduct out reach initiatives to some of the most rural parts of the country. During these visits, patients with a variety of ailments do endeavour to attend. Seeing how our herbal treatment makes the difference to these communities is a moment so unique and life changing.

    We believe that such and many more of the like would equally inspire and mutually enrich any volunteer that'll be up for it.

  • Help

    We need volunteers to help improve our website and communications, to help in our agricultural demonstration garden, and teachers for skills training, including group dynamics. We would also like people with some interest and knowledge in herbal therapies, acupuncture, and massage. We would also like a volunteer who knows about charity fundraising.
