    Description

My name is Hellen and I am the creator and owner of the Project. We are an NGO in Uganda founded in 2002. Our mission is to support vulnerable people in our communities, helping to improve their lives through affordable herbal medicine, education, and skills training.

We have five main programs focused on: Herbal Medicine, early childhood education, skills training (ex: cosmetics, herbal remedies and natural foods), organic farming and women’s empowerment.

Volunteers will be attached to at least one of our teams running those five programs.

Proficiency in and/or passion for any of the following areas would be most useful:
    1) Web and social media communications
    2) Gardening and agriculture
    3) Teaching - elementary education and skills training
    4) Herbal therapies, acupuncture, and massage
    5) Charity fundraising

While here with us, volunteers will get to share experiences with a vibrant team of local volunteers and communities. All won't be just work! There'll be a fair balance of sightseeing and exploration.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Volunteers will learn about traditional medicine and exchange information with our team on community transformation.

We regularly conduct out reach initiatives to some of the most rural parts of the country. During these visits, patients with a variety of ailments do endeavour to attend. Seeing how our herbal treatment makes the difference to these communities is a moment so unique and life changing.

We believe that such and many more of the like would equally inspire and mutually enrich any volunteer that'll be up for it.

    Help

We need volunteers to help improve our website and communications, to help in our agricultural demonstration garden, and teachers for skills training, including group dynamics. We would also like people with some interest and knowledge in herbal therapies, acupuncture, and massage. We would also like a volunteer who knows about charity fundraising.
