Joe and I are both long term residents of Vanuatu. With help from our daughter, we operate a property that hosts a small farm and a small tourist destination.
The tourist side of the venture is called Eden on the River. My philosophy is not so much the need to be totally organic but definitely "Clean and Green".
The property is 18 hectares and we harm free range pigs, tropical fruit and as well as tourism destination, with a variety of tour options, from our suspended bridge tour to mini golf. We have nearly 2 hectares landscaped gardens and a cafe.
We need help in extending the menu in the cafe kitchen using local fresh produce and would be interested in someone that could teach the staff about making jams and pickles. Experimenting with making a range of juices would also be good. Business training, process streamlining and documenting process and procedures would be appreciated is another area where we need assistance.
Please note that while it is an incredibly peaceful property, your accommodation is located next to our daughter's residence. There are two young children (6 & 11) and 4 dogs. Several times a week we have a combined family dinner and there is always a lot going on.
We are a busy, noisy and fun family!
Babysitting and creative play

Help with Computers/ Internet
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Travellers will benefit from learning about the Vanuatu culture from our staff, what's its like to run a tourist operation in our country, and also have the opportunity to travel around our many amazing islands.
Our requirements are only for skilled volunteers, it is essential for our workaways to be able share their skills and abilities so that our staff can learn and improve their skills.
We require someone with knowledge in ESL and must be English speaking to help our tourist guides improve their English.
Office administrators to train existing staff in basic booking keeping, computer and office skills.
Horticulture- training staff in agriculture skills, grafting and pruning skills would be appreciated.
We have a very special need of anybody that has the skill to design and build a mini hydro scheme.
We have also opened a small café so we require someone with the skills necessary to train our staff to produce simple fresh tasty food and train in food safety.
As you can imagine it is a full time job to keep all of our machinery and vehicles in shape so anyone with mechanical or panel beating skills would also be a great help
Volunteers have the use of a small guest cottage with its own bathroom and kitchen.
Vanuatu is a beautiful island nation and any volunteers should try and spend extra time visiting other places of the island while they are here.
