Description
Meet our family: Tamsyn and Monique, along with our two amazing children, Noa and Luca. We live in the beautiful suburb of Hout Bay, where the mountains, forest, and sea are all part of our daily backdrop. We’re nature lovers through and through—keen hikers, beach explorers, and always up for an outdoor adventure. Our little crew wouldn’t be complete without our two beloved pet chickens, Midnight and Ginger, who add plenty of character (and the occasional egg!) to our home. Life in Hout Bay is full of wonder, and we love sharing it together as a family.

Tamsyn is a dedicated chiropractor with a deep passion for holistic living. Beyond her practice, she’s an avid homesteader, beekeeper, fermenter, and enthusiastic birder, with a strong commitment to healthy, sustainable living. As a family, we actively support local food gardens and believe in fostering community resilience through mindful, earth-friendly choices. Monique is an experienced hiking and cultural guide, with an intimate knowledge of the local trails, ecosystems, and the rich cultural history of the Cape. Her work allows her to share her deep love for nature and storytelling with people from all walks of life. Together, we bring a wealth of knowledge, curiosity, and appreciation for the natural world into our daily lives, especially while exploring the breathtaking landscapes and heritage of our Hout Bay home.
Help
We are looking for a kind and reliable au pair to support our family in the afternoons. Although we both work and have flexible schedules, we would truly appreciate some extra help with school pickups and spending quality time with our children in the afternoons. A helping hand during these hours would bring balance to our days and ensure that Noa and Luca are well cared for, engaged, and happy.
