Description
I urgently need a house sitter for 2 small wonderful dogs.
Please help: 1-23 July
In exchange you get to be in a basic but nice house in a quiet village in wonderful coastal Sligo for 3 weeks.
I must travel to support my friend as she gets hip surgery.
I am an artist and writer and volunteer for lots of arts events.
I live in beautiful Sligo on Wild Atlantic Way near several amazing beaches between 1 and 20 km from my home, located 10 km from town on a main bus route. Sligo is a great place for a holiday so you can enjoy it.
I am an artist and writer with 2 senior rescue papillons. They need a little extra care just because one is partly blind and partly deaf But they are friendly and adorable. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Sligo is a very interesting place with loads - folklore, myths, megalithic tombs and monuments, and stunning views hills for walks beaches etc. There's books on Sligo in the house and friendly neighbours who can give you local info. There is a pub a few doors away and also there's a cafe and a Chinese takeaway. I am located between Drumcliffe Church (where Nobel Laureate poet WB Yeats is buried) and Lissadell Beach.
During July CAIRDE community Arts Festival is on in Sligo with lots of free events as well as ticketed ones: circus spectacle theatre Visual arts and music
Sligo is full of: history and folklore, megalithic. tombs, and the Tuatha De Danaan ( the Sidhe, or fairy folk),
Poet WB Yeats, Artist Jack Yeats, and much more here to explore.
In July Sligo has Cairde Arts Festival, Food Festival, Jazz Festival, plenty of music and events and gorgeous beaches for surfing sailing fishing walks swimming paddleboarding etc and walks in nature and folklore also some lovely yoga studios.
it's a great outdoor activities area. -
Help
HELP needed very soon please!
My friends surgery got moved forward and I must go to support her. Please come enjoy Sligo lovely coastal area on Wild Atlantic Way and please mind my 2 senior small dogs.
Senior small Dog care for 2 rescue female neutered papillons in my home. They need a little personal attention, several short walks and one or two longer walks and to be fed and watered in the morning. Food once a day plus a few small snacks.
The food will be frozen in daily packs with some ready made soft food in trays.
Other than that just give them affectionate cuddles and enjoy their company while with them.
They can be left on their own in the kitchen when you are going to beaches or festivals.
Because one has allergies it is a special vet recommended diet.
I am travelling to support a friend for 3 weeks as she needs a hip replacement and I will help her through this.
this is why I need a pet sitter.
Daisy is 11 and partly blind/partly deaf
Julie is 8 and I have her only 7 months. She was a puppy farm breeding dog so she is still recovering from a hard life. She can only eat soft food and has allergies so a special diet.
The dogs are ok to be left for a few hours at a time so you can explore Sligo beaches once all their needs are met. I would like daily photos and video call please.
It would be good if you could arrive or meet me before I leave
My travel dates are 1 July - 23 July
I offer 1 bed in small house with bath kitchen and sitting room suitable for 1 person. Please keep contact with me via WhatsApp and my neighbours can advise. -

Accommodation
I have a small house with 1 bedroom available
Please provide your own food.
Grocery Deliveries can be ordered from Tesco in Sligo or Supervalu in Grange
The internet is quite good in the house. There is netflix available on the TV -
What else ...
Dogs are used to going out first thing in the morning, getting fed, then going out again. I take them out twice in the morning around lunchtime, about 6-8, and before bed also if they seem excited or just ate.
They get lots of cuddles and a little training. Otherwise they are usually content to relax. They sleep in their bed or crate in the kitchen.
House rules:
Absolutely no smoking in my house please as I have allergies
Please clean up after yourself
( and after the dogs)
The washing machine instructions must be followed carefully as the manufacturer insists all users read the manual. A copy of this will be left in the machine.
There is no dryer but there is air drying out the back. -

My animals / pets
Julie (9 years)
Julie was a breeder mum at a puppy farm rescued by NSPCA. I adopted her 7 months ago. She is 9. Due to her difficult life she was in very bad condition when I got her. She has no teeth and developed allergies due to extreme malnutrition. I am building her up with a special vet recommended raw diet.
Her personality is very people oriented and affectionate. She is good with other animals.Daisy (12 years)
Papillon rescue dog 9 years old.
Daisy is very friendly. I had her 7 months
She was a puppy farm dog in bad condition when I got her and has no teeth so can only wear soft food
She is mostly housebroken but needs to go out about every four to six hours and after eating.
Because she is an old lady she is very occasionally a little grouchy to dogs she doesn't know.
