  We are a family living in Granollers, the capital of the Vallès Oriental comarca. Granollers has very good connections with Barcelona, and it takes around 30 minutes to get there by R2 train. Our home is only about a 3-minute walk from the train station, so you can enjoy the quieter and more relaxed atmosphere of a smaller town while still having easy access to Barcelona.
  
  Granollers has plenty of shops, restaurants, parks and cultural activities, as well as excellent public transport connections. Besides Barcelona, there are also many places nearby where you can enjoy nature and discover different parts of Catalonia.
  
  We have two children from a multicultural family, and we would particularly like to create a natural English-speaking environment for them. We are therefore looking for a native English speaker from an English-speaking country who genuinely enjoys spending time with children. We would love to welcome someone into our home who would like to experience everyday life in a multicultural family while sharing their language and culture with us.
  
  We are not looking for a formal English teacher. Instead, we would like our children to have regular opportunities to hear and use English naturally through everyday activities and play — playing together, reading stories, drawing, going to the park, playing board games or simply chatting.
  
  In exchange, we offer a comfortable and welcoming family environment and a private room. You will have the opportunity to experience everyday family life in Catalonia and Spain. During your free time, you will be able to visit Barcelona and explore other parts of Catalonia.
  
  We are looking for someone who is responsible, kind, open-minded and genuinely enjoys being around children. Above all, we hope to find someone who would like to become part of our family life during their stay, while also having their own personal space and free time.

  Somos una familia que vive en Granollers, capital de la comarca del Vallès Oriental. Granollers está muy bien comunicada con Barcelona: desde aquí se puede llegar en tren R2 en unos 30 minutos. Nuestra casa está a solo unos 3 minutos a pie de la estación de tren, por lo que puedes disfrutar de la tranquilidad y comodidad de una ciudad más pequeña y, al mismo tiempo, desplazarnos fácilmente a Barcelona.
  
  Granollers cuenta con tiendas, restaurantes, parques y diversas actividades culturales, y tiene muy buenas conexiones de transporte público. Además de Barcelona, en los alrededores hay muchos lugares donde disfrutar de la naturaleza y descubrir diferentes zonas de Cataluña.
  
  Tenemos dos hijos de una familia multicultural y nos gustaría especialmente crear para ellos un entorno natural de comunicación en inglés. Por eso, nos gustaría acoger a una persona nativa de un país de habla inglesa y a quien le guste pasar tiempo con niños. Nos gustaría que pudiera vivir con nosotros, conocer nuestra vida cotidiana como familia multicultural y, al mismo tiempo, compartir con nosotros su idioma y su cultura.
  
  No buscamos a un profesor o profesora de inglés. Lo que queremos es que nuestros hijos tengan la oportunidad de escuchar y utilizar el inglés de forma natural y regular a través de actividades cotidianas y juegos: jugar juntos, leer cuentos, dibujar, ir al parque, jugar a juegos de mesa o simplemente conversar.
  
  A cambio, ofrecemos un ambiente familiar cómodo y acogedor y una habitación privada. Tendrás la oportunidad de conocer de cerca la vida familiar en Cataluña y España. Durante tu tiempo libre, podrás visitar Barcelona y descubrir otros lugares de Cataluña.
  
  Buscamos a una persona responsable, amable, abierta y a la que realmente le guste estar con niños y compartir tiempo con ellos. Sobre todo, nos gustaría encontrar a alguien que durante su estancia quiera integrarse en nuestra vida familiar y formar parte de ella, pero que también disponga de su propio espacio y tiempo libre.

  For us, Workaway is above all an opportunity for cultural and language exchange.
  
  We are a multicultural family, where different languages and cultures come together. By living with us, you will have the opportunity to experience the everyday life of a multicultural family in a fairly authentic way and to learn about our way of life, customs and culture. We will be happy to share our life in Spain, Catalan culture and our family life with you.
  
  At the same time, we would also like to learn from you. We are very interested in getting to know your country, culture, way of life and customs, and especially in learning about family life, children's education and everyday life for families in your country.
  
  We would like this to be a two-way cultural exchange: by living with us, you can discover Spain, Catalonia and the everyday life of a multicultural family, while we have the opportunity to learn more about your culture, language and way of life through your stay with us.

  Para nosotros, Workaway es ante todo una oportunidad de intercambio cultural y lingüístico.
  
  Somos una familia multicultural, en la que conviven diferentes lenguas y culturas. Al vivir con nosotros, podrás experimentar de una manera bastante auténtica el día a día de una familia multicultural y conocer nuestro estilo de vida, nuestras costumbres y nuestra cultura. Estaremos encantados de compartir contigo nuestra vida en España, la cultura catalana y nuestra vida familiar.
  
  Al mismo tiempo, también nos gustaría aprender de ti. Nos interesa mucho conocer tu país, tu cultura, tu forma de vida y tus costumbres, y especialmente saber cómo es la vida familiar, la educación de los niños y el día a día de las familias en tu país.
  
  Nos gustaría que fuera un intercambio cultural en ambas direcciones: tú podrás conocer España, Cataluña y la vida cotidiana de una familia multicultural a través de la convivencia con nosotros, y nosotros tendremos la oportunidad de conocer mejor tu cultura, tu lengua y tu forma de vida gracias a tu estancia con nosotros.

  Help

  We are looking for a native English speaker from an English-speaking country who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and would like to share English with our children in a natural and enjoyable way.
  
  The main idea is to create an English-speaking environment, rather than provide formal English lessons. We would like our Workawayer to interact regularly with the children through everyday activities and play, for example:
  
  * playing together at home;
  * reading stories in English;
  * drawing and doing arts and crafts;
  * playing board games;
  * going to the park;
  * doing outdoor activities;
  * chatting and telling stories;
  * joining some family activities.
  
  We would like English to become a natural part of our children's everyday life, rather than turning it into a formal lesson.
  
  In exchange, we offer accommodation in our home and the opportunity to experience family and cultural life in Catalonia. We will also be happy to share our language, culture and everyday life with you.
  
  We are looking for someone who is responsible, kind, patient and proactive, who feels comfortable around children and genuinely enjoys playing and communicating with them.
  
  The exchange would involve around 8–10 hours per week, arranged together according to the family's and the Workawayer's schedules. The rest of the time would be free for you to study, work, explore Barcelona and travel around Catalonia.

  Accommodation

  We offer a comfortable and quiet private room in our family home. The Workawayer will have their own private space and a private bathroom for their exclusive use. The children will use our own bathroom.
  
  The room has a single bed, a wardrobe and a window. There is no desk in the room, but if you need to study or work, you can use the table in the shared areas or our study when it is not occupied.
  
  Our home is about a 3-minute walk from Granollers train station, so it is very well connected. The R2 train takes around 30 minutes to Barcelona, making it easy for you to visit Barcelona or explore Catalonia during your free time.
  
  You will also have access to our Wi-Fi, kitchen and other shared areas of the house. We want to offer you a comfortable and quiet place to stay, while also giving you the opportunity to feel part of our family life and enjoy a warm and welcoming family environment during your stay with us.
