Help with painting and gardening at a farmhouse close to beach in Casal Jorge Dias, Portugal

  Description

  Hi, we are Lynne and Nihal. We have a beautiful old farmhouse, in a rural area but also only ten minutes from the beautiful beaches of Sao Martinho and Nazare. It is close to the beautiful city of Alcobaca which has a famous monastery and a spa. We are also close to Caldas da Reina and the beaches of the Silver Coast. The house is basic but completely livable with a bathroom and two bedrooms. The property comprises two houses with separate kitchens and a shared bathroom. There are fruit trees, a well and an organic vegetable garden. It is full of character and very loved.. We am slowly restoring the house which has recently had a new roof and kitchen. We are looking for workaways, a single person or a couple. Help is needed with internal and external painting and gardening. I'm also restoring an old parquet floor in the kitchen. (n exchange for help 4 hours a day I would offer use of car and trips to the beach. We offer home cooked vegetarian food and full board in exchange for help 5 mornings a week.

  Help

  I need to prep the outside of the house for painting. One wall needs rendering (do you have these skills?) the others need prepping and priming. Also help in the garden with weeding, strimming, planting veggies. Work would be shared with us.

  Accommodation

  A room with twin single beds in shared house. Use of own kitchen if needed. Bathroom is shared. Breakfast and evening meal are provided by us which would be vegetarian, but you are equally welcome to prepare your own food. There is a cooker and microwave oven.

  What else ...

  The house is close to many beautiful places in Portugal, including the beaches of the silver coast the Candeiros national park and the historic city of Alcobaca. It is one hour north of Lisbon. Sao Martinho do Porto beach is just 8 minutes drive. There is a bus service to Alcobaca and Caldas da Reina and the host also has a car. It's a beautiful area to explore by bicycle also.
