Our lodge is a remote alpine getaway offering self-catered and full-catered trips to our guests as well as a teahouse for day hikers. We are located in a sheltered alpine valley, 300 meters away from a beautiful alpine lake. Our sheltered valley in the Canadian Rockies is located south of Golden, BC, and north of Radium BC. Our summer season when we need workers begins at the beginning of July and ends at the end of September.
We are new owners taking over an existing alpine lodge, and slowly getting it updated and renovated. This year we begin by removing and replacing the floor in the lodge and renovating the kitchen area. After that we are cleaning and organizing the surrounding area, chopping firewood, and beginning to prep for our new buildings as well as revitalizing our existing ones.
Come and immerse yourself in true Rocky Mountain wilderness, with a touch of rustic living and modern amenities, all combined to make a truly authentic backcountry experience. There will be plenty of time to explore our little slice of wilderness heaven as well! Our area is perfect for hiking, scrambling, photography, wildlife viewing, and fishing.
Helpers will be required to sleep in a tent, which will be provided if you do not have your own. We can provide blankets, pillows and sleeping pad. We will also provide food (3 meals a day) for your stay, but we recommend planning ahead and bringing any personal food or drink items that you feel you will especially need. We are relatively isolated and remote, and it is not a fast process to go into town. We can discuss this before your stay to figure out what food will be provided.
The lodge has a propane stove and refrigerator, running cold water, limited electrical power, and limited internet access. We also have a hot outdoor shower!
We are looking for workers who are happy to be totally immersed in nature and happy to be away from normal civilization while they stay with us. This is a chance to get away from the cities and towns and to truly experience Canadian wilderness!
