    Description

We are middle aged couple living on a small hobby farm on the beautiful mid north coast of NSW. Our property has incredible views and you will have your own self contained cottage. We are completely off grid with good solar power and generator back up, also tank water. If you have a camper you can park up, however you will need 4WD to access out property. The cottage is 2br so you may be sharing at times. Currently we have 5 chooks and a friendly blue heeler pup, and our handsome peacock. We are trying to grow as much of our own fresh fruit and veggies possible. We plan to get goats once their yard is prepared too. Our property is surrounded by state forest and there are wonderful walks to be had. We are 10 minutes by car to the local town Bellingen which is well resourced. Our closest major centre is Coffs Harbour which is 30 minutes north of us. There are beautiful beaches and freshwater rivers nearby that we love to swim in.
After raising 5 kids, and then travelling Australia in our Hiace camper van for 2 years, we’ve sold up from Newcastle as we no longer felt content with city life.
We love our new self sufficient lifestyle. Steve was a tradesman and is very handy. I am a nurse and still do the odd shift at the local hospital.
There will be food available in the 2 bedroom cottage for you to prepare breakfast and lunch. In the evenings Annie will prepare meals for us to all share. Annie is a great cook so you'll be treated to some great healthy foods. We try to eat mostly from our own fresh produce.
Come share our beautiful space, learn new skills and breathe in our fresh mountain air.We also love a good campfire so occasionally we sit around that in the evenings and share stories. We live in a wonderful Community so you’ll enjoy being part of that too.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

As travellers ourselves, we love sharing stories and hearing other peoples stories of their homeland or their amazing travels. We've been fortunate to travel overseas to many countries and more recently around Australia. We worked on a cattle station in WA during our "Big Lap" . We stay in contact with many fellow travellers from all around the world. We believe travelling is an incredible educational experience regardless of age.
"Education is a journey not a destination. Enjoy your travels"
