    Description

Come live in Cloud 9, Siargao — the surfing capital of the Philippines — and help bring our teen band to the world stage!

We’re a musical family originally from Europe, now based in Cloud 9 — Siargao’s famous surfing and creative hub. Our project revolves around our two teenage sons, Kyle (16) and Aidan (13) — dedicated young musicians who are fully committed to music and live performance. They’ve been homeschooled for years and now focus full-time on developing their musical and online presence.

Our band is a high-energy, heartfelt mix of pop punk, indie, emo, and acoustic. We perform regularly on the island and film content in stunning tropical locations, aiming to grow a vibrant online audience and share a story that’s honest, fun, and inspiring.

We’ve hosted Workawayers for over 15 years — first in the south of France, then in rural Philippines, and now here in Siargao, where the energy and creative potential are on another level. We’re known for being warm, direct, and clear — and we take your contribution seriously. In return, we offer a welcoming family atmosphere, good food, and a chance to be part of something meaningful.

Our main priority is finding social media creatives who can help with:

Filming short-form content (Reels, Shorts, TikToks)

Editing videos with trending hooks, music, and energy

Crafting thumbnails, captions, and strategic hashtags

    Creating and scheduling content

    Organizing our digital media library

We’re also open to experienced musicians or music educators who enjoy mentoring young talent. Skills in guitar, drums, bass, vocals, songwriting, or music production are especially welcome — but this is not a jam session. We’re structured, serious, and committed to growth. If you bring the right mix of calm, clarity, and passion, this can be a very rewarding exchange.

You’ll have your own comfortable space to relax and unwind, with privacy when you need it and a peaceful atmosphere that supports both creative focus and downtime. The setup is simple but thoughtfully arranged — with everything you’ll need to feel at home, rest well, and enjoy island life.

We’re not here to micromanage or hold hands. We work best with people who are motivated, learn quickly, and take initiative. If you’re excited to help a rising band create content, grow online, and live creatively in one of the world’s most beautiful islands — we’d love to hear from you.

While the minimum stay is 2 weeks, we give preference to volunteers who can commit to a longer period — especially if you want to become part of the team and see your impact grow over time.

As a volunteer here, you'll be living in the heart of Siargao’s vibrant island culture — surrounded by surfing, music, nature, and a mix of local life and international energy. While we’re part of a friendly Filipino community, Cloud 9 is also a growing hub for digital nomads, creatives, musicians, and travelers from around the world.

    You’ll have the opportunity to:

Learn about Filipino island life and community values

Experience local food, language, and daily routines

Connect with local musicians, surfers, artists, and friendly neighbors

Observe and contribute to a live, evolving family music project

Improve or learn skills in video editing, digital storytelling, social media growth, and music production

We live close to nature — coconut trees, beaches, jungle, ocean breezes — and share meals, music, and laughter with people from different backgrounds. If you’re open, curious, and respectful, this is a space where you can grow creatively and personally, and take something meaningful away from the experience.

We’re looking for creative, focused, and independent people who want to be part of something exciting and purposeful — not just pass through. Our primary need is for content creators and social media support to help build the band project and share our story with the world.

Depending on your strengths, tasks may include:

Filming short videos (B-roll, interviews, performances)

Editing for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts

Creating thumbnails, captions, and hashtag blocks

Helping organize our Dropbox or Drive content library

Planning post schedules, writing descriptions, or publishing

Offering insights on platform growth or audience targeting

If you’re skilled with CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Canva, Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube, that’s a bonus. But even more important is being quick to learn, self-motivated, and dependable.

We also welcome musicians or music educators who enjoy mentoring — especially in guitar, drums, bass, vocals, songwriting, or music production. This is not a casual jam — we’re building something with structure, consistency, and real goals.

We’re happy to guide the right person, but we’re not here to micromanage. If you thrive with clear goals and freedom to do your best work, this will suit you well.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You’ll have your own space to relax and recharge — simple, private, and set up with everything you need to feel comfortable and focused during your stay. It’s not luxury, but it’s thoughtfully arranged and peaceful, with room to breathe, rest, and enjoy your downtime. We provide accommodation and 3 amazing, filling, and healthy meals a day.

We’ve hosted many volunteers over the years and know how important it is to have a quiet, comfortable base where you can do good work and feel at ease. You’ll have privacy when you need it, and shared areas for meals, hanging out, or collaboration when the time is right.

This is a place for people who appreciate island life, natural surroundings, and a more relaxed but purpose-driven atmosphere. There’s space to work creatively, reflect, and rest well — especially between filming, editing, or music sessions.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

When you’re off the clock, you’ll be living in one of the most beautiful and exciting parts of the Philippines. Cloud 9 is world-famous for its surfing, and the area offers endless opportunities for outdoor adventure, connection, and creative inspiration.

In your free time, you can:

Surf or learn to surf at one of Siargao’s many world-class breaks

Explore white sand beaches, mangroves, and hidden lagoons

Visit local markets, cafés, and hangouts popular with both locals and backpackers

Watch live music, join community events, or meet other digital nomads

Relax in the tropical scenery, recharge, and enjoy slow island living

Most things are within walking distance, or a short ride away by tricycle, motorbike, or scooter (easy to rent locally). The local vibe is friendly, welcoming, and laid-back — but there’s a creative energy here that draws people in from all over the world.

Siargao is a tropical paradise where many come to visit but end up staying longer than planned. If you're looking for something deeper than just a vacation — a place to belong, create, and contribute — this could be the right fit for you.
