Description
Welcome to Our Hostel in Ladakh
We run a small and beautiful hostel for children in Matho Village, Ladakh, India. At present, around 15 girls and 5 boys stay in our hostel. The students attend regular classes at Government Higher Secondary School, Matho, and return to the hostel after school.
At the hostel, students receive guidance and support from a warden who helps them with homework, self-study, and other educational activities. We provide healthy, locally grown organic meals in a safe and caring environment.
Daily Routine
Morning prayer and meditation
One hour of self-study before breakfast
Breakfast and departure for school by bus
Regular school classes during the day
Homework and supervised study sessions after school
Recreational activities such as games, painting, and creative learning
Guest Teacher Programme
We warmly welcome volunteer and guest teachers who are interested in teaching only for an hour. The guests are not solely responsible for teaching the students whole day. The guests will help and interact with students to enhance their English speaking skill.

The volunteers can also learn basic ladakhi language and experience the tranquil environment and peaceful mind. They can also participate in the morning meditation with students at hostel and learn and share cooking skills as well.
Volunteer teachers will stay at the hostel and will be provided with comfortable accommodation, including a private room with an attached bathroom. They will have tea or coffee with local cookies, dinner and breakfast with students and if they would like to take class at school, the lunch will be served at the school. we want volunteers to stay at least a month. The guests can see beautiful monasteries, monumental places and visit students homes with a student on weekends.
Role of Guest Teachers
Volunteer teachers are expected to:
Conduct one or two hours of teaching at the hostel each day
Help students improve their spoken English and academic skills
Introduce students to modern scientific ideas and learning methods
Visit the school and, if desired, teach one class or participate in school activities
Interact with students through educational and recreational activities
Experience in Ladakh
We have previously hosted several volunteer teachers who greatly enjoyed their stay. They appreciated the opportunity to experience the peaceful environment, rich culture, and simple lifestyle of Ladakh while making a meaningful contribution to the education of local children.
We look forward to welcoming dedicated educators who wish to share their knowledge, learn about our culture, and inspire young minds. -
