    Description

Our place is a non-profit entity, open to accept new members, rooted in our matrix organisation, Mojo de Caña, with the aim of regenerating through reforestation, ecological plantations, restoration of the original vernacular architecture and sports in nature since the pine forest to the sea and part of the Redondo de Guayedra as a historic aboriginal settlement, with a special ethnographic and environmental value within the Tamadaba Natural Park Reserve. Our collective spirit is to synergize in an associative cooperative mode with the people who want to be part of this family and this place.

We are happy to specify that we are in the first phase of the work lines of an old abandoned plantation of 15.000 sqm., in which there are several houses and constructions considering the total surface of the agreement is 262.000 sqm. inside Parque Natural De Tamadaba,  a natural reserve on the last virgin coast of Gran Canaria, the west, that protects the endemic canarian pine tree and termophilic forests on our area.

As another important thing to consider, we are inside the same property and aboriginal land as this ecoresort, whose owner has accepted our proposal to evolve our area of the property towards the ecovillage community lifestyle.

We have attached photos of the first house "1" restoration we are working on   , for which we have already accepted a budget to install new carpentries. We recently solved the water supply from the rainwater tank with a power generator we bought plus the gravity pressure we are lucky to count on, awaiting the local electricity company for the light supply contract order we have placed, in addition to the Canary Islands government Fotovoltaic subvention for solar panels. Therefore, in the next months we would only be able to host members on campervans, camping or, if there was interest beyond the house situation, in one of the rooms temporarily. The house water would have a chlorine / filtering System.

This ecological management project of the most virgin coast of the island of Gran Canaria hosts several lines of work in the. We are preparing terraces for organic cultivation of mango, coffee and avocado, as well as self-supply vegetables and reforestation of local species. Likewise, we are in the process of restoring the dry stone walls, the farm houses, the tool room, the sheds, ponds and other elements within the area that was once inhabited. We are also developing the multi-adventure sports project in nature and the corresponding signage of trails, routes, points of archaeological and historical interest and even the installation of a zip line.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Campervans, Motor Homes, Camping Areas, and a Rural house in the process of rehabilitation, in a shared room potentially. The work in progress house has a living room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, outdoor stone oven, terrace and roof terrace. We are now awaiting the new carpentries (windows and doors to be installed) so that we can paint and bring our stored furniture to inhabit the house.

We would organize this once we have restored the kitchen. We have now an gas kitchen, a power generator, and also have bought a reflectant parabolic solar kitchen for midday cooking. We have planted several young fruit trees, will be happy to grow vegetables soon and count on the local market of Agaete, the closest town,  to get supplies for now. Until we can be self sustainable foodwise, the structure would rely on daily / weekly basis depending on the evolution of the circumstances.

We are requesting not more than 15 hours, since we are working on the kitchen´s restoration and reset up and food is not provided, but happy to organize colective Buys and cookings.

    What else ...

In the free time, helpers can go hiking, climbing and associated sports. The farm has a bathing area on a pebble beach. The town of Agaete has a very varied gastronomy, a fishing port, natural pools, the TEA cultural space and some very fun bars. Likewise, on the island of Gran Canaria there is a wide range of active and cultural tourism. We provide bicycles and our own vehicles, and there is a public bus line between Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and La Aldea that passes by our road.
