    Description

We are a couple in our mid twenties, Anne Laila and Øystein, and we have a very cute dog called Cammo. He is a Lapponian Herder. We also have a one year old daughter.

Anne Laila works with reindeer and grew up in a Sámi reindeer herding family in Varanger. Together with her sister, she owns her own herd of reindeer. During the season, she spends time in the mountains looking after and herding them.

We live in the countryside, about a 10 minute drive from Tana Bru, in a quiet area with lots of space and beautiful nature all around us. The sheep farm is close to our house, but Øystein’s father takes care of the sheep. We help out on the farm from time to time as well.

If this sounds interesting to you, we’d love to hear from you! Feel free to get in touch for a chat and see if staying with us could be a good match.

If you’re wondering about the work, please keep reading. There is usually a variety of tasks, so there’s something for most people.Any help is appreciated, especially if you’re practical, enjoy learning new things, and don’t mind getting your hands dirty. If you have relevant skills or are highly motivated to help with the tasks we offer, we’d be happy to hear from you.

Ideally we need a practical, physically strong and reliable person that love to take responsibility and know how to deal with different tasks.

If you are practical, and enjoy to give a helping hand even for hard work, it’s perfect :)

Other tasks may be, dephending on time of the year:

    Feeding animals
    Wood cutting
    Fencing
Fixing small things for the home
    Making firewood, cutting
    Gardening etc

Otherwise, there are seasonal different kind of tasks If you are able to handle animals, using a tractor, driving a car and are strong physically, there are plenty of tasks, as normal for someone establishing a farm.

And You see, this ocean of tasks is big…
