Maintenance 💪🛠️
ONGOING PROJECTS
Slowly! developing permaculture/no dig vegetable raised & field beds, with a focus on herbs, microgreens & leaf greens,

TYPICAL DAY:
Usually the previous evening we have chatted about the needs of the day, discussed options and solutions & delegated tasks.
Our operation is on a small and manual scale, so no requirement to operate machinery.
Depending on the time of year daily tasks might include:
Managing compost & soil fertility,
Preparing & maintaining vegetable plots (we favour a no dig approach).
Sowing seeds or planting out seedlings.
Weeding, watering & harvesting.
General Maintenance & DIY💪🛠️ includes:
Mending fences
Keeping sheds organized,
Oiling outdoor furniture.
Chopping & stacking timber for wood fired stoves are all part of the routine.
Also:
WEEDING, WEEDING, WEEDING!
Inclement weather?... Housekeeping:)
Expected Hours are in line with standard Workaway practice.
LOCATION & AMENITIES:
We are lucky to be situated so conveniently between the city and the mountains.
Personal time activities might include hiking/cycling/horse riding in the mountains to Glencree, Sally Gap or Glendalough.
Locally, traditional Irish music & dancing can be experienced at The Merrry Ploughboy & Johnnie Fox's, the excellent Timbertrove Cafe is a 3 minute walk while just a little further the quirky Hazel House restaurant & craft shop.
Or visit the many galleries, museums, theaters, cafes, restaurants, bars & music venues in the city.
Use public transport for day trips along Ireland's Ancient East, the Hidden Heartlands or weekends along the Wild Atlantic Way.
Sailing the east coast or surfing on the west coast, with all that activity available it's a good time to remind you that without leaving we have yoga mats and many ideal spots for relaxing, reading & meditating on the goods things in life!:)
