Hello! My name is Sabine, and I live with my family in one of the most scenic parts of Ireland – the stunning County Kerry.
At the moment, I’m looking for a bit of help around the house. This includes general housework, some light painting. If you’re 22 or older and enjoy practical tasks, this could be a great fit. A mature and reliable person would be absolutely perfect. I also have a few small gardening jobs where an extra pair of hands would be much appreciated.
We eat very healthily and love cooking fresh meals, so if you enjoy spending time in the kitchen, especially helping with things like chopping vegetables or preparing ingredients, that would be a big plus. I’m a big fan of vegetarian food – although I’m not strictly vegetarian – and I enjoy sharing the cooking with guests who like to join in.
You’d be staying in a small room with your own private bathroom (just not en-suite), and full board is included.
You’ll have plenty of free time to explore the beautiful surroundings – from the famous Ring of Kerry to Dingle, not to mention breathtaking mountain walks and some of Ireland’s best-loved scenic spots. On weekends, we often head to the National Park or the beach, and you’d be very welcome to come with us. In the evenings, we enjoy board games and quizzes, and it would be lovely if you’d like to join in.
The area here is fantastic for cycling and walking, and if you're interested in discovering more of Ireland during your stay, I’d be more than happy to help you organise some wonderful trips – and you’re always welcome to join us when we go on our own day adventures.
This could be a really special experience, and I’m looking forward to welcoming someone who enjoys a mix of practical work, great food, and a warm, relaxed Irish home life.

We live in one of the most beautiful areas in the South West of Ireland. It is only a few minutes walk into the busy town center of Killarney with plenty of shops, boutiques, Pubs and Restaurants and many amazing Hotels (you will find some of the nicest hotels in Killarney) . We are surrounded by mountains and lakes. The 100 km² Killarney National Park is also nearby so there is plenty to do (Boat trips, Walking, Cycling, Hiking,). The beaches are only 30 - 40 minutes drive away. I am very happy to bring you to the beach on some weekends as I am going regularly to the beach. Train Connections to Cork and Dublin are very good. You will not be bored here.
There are many mountain walks near us.

On your time off there is walking, fishing, cycling, mountain climbing and beautiful scenery. If you are into photography the Killarney National Park is amazing. Dingle is only 60 minutes away. You can explore by bike the Gap of Dunloe, the Killarney Nationalpark or some parts of the Ring of Kerry - depending how far you will cycle. I am happy to help with any organisation of any trips around Ireland as I work in the tourism industry.
It was my first time using Workaway and also my first experience abroad, and I couldn’t have asked for a better family. It was a wonderful experience and very useful for achieving my goal of improving my English.
From the very beginning, I felt welcomed: Sabine, John, and Thomas were incredibly kind and patient with me.
Sabine is a dynamic and… read more determined person; I deeply admire her work and energy, which have been a source of inspiration for me. It was a pleasure to help her both with household tasks and her agency.
I really hope there will be another opportunity to return to them in the future. Thank you so much, Sabine, for all the lessons you taught me.
I miss you.
With love,
Sara

Anna is an excellent workawayer. She has very good cooking skills and was running the kitchen like a chef. She helped in the house with various projects. She reorganized all my office stuff including folders within a few hours and everything was so organized and tidy afterwards. I was blown away. She also looked after our son and did a lot of arts… read more and crafts with him. She has great IT skills. She was brilliant in helping us to organize a children's birthday party. She helped with the cooking, baking, decorating and also played with the children. She was fantastic and the birthday party would not have been the same without her help. I would highly recommend her to any host family.

I stayed with Sabine, John and Thomas for almost 7 weeks (2 of which were self isolation in their old house). The work was very diverse (which made it a lot more enjoyable). I had to do general household things (such as hoovering, cooking and tidying up the kitchen and house), a few hours of minding Thomas, some office work, painting and… read more organising things.
Sabine may have very high expectations (which she will warn you of in advance) but she also has very high standards in what she will offer you. There was always good food in the house, she organised a trip to the gap of dunloe and one to cork for me and was always caring. She also took me to the beach with herself and Thomas. Sabine is very clear in what she expects you to do and will explain everything in detail.
I am going to miss them a lot, especially listening to Thomas’s stories.
Thank you for everything

Lucie stayed with us for over 3 months. She was excellent. We have always a very busy schedule but she managed to get all tasks done even on very hectic days. She is extremely organised, proffessional, tidy and reliable. We could give her any job and she managed to get it sorted, no matter if it was a maintenance, household or office job e. g.… read more installation of magnetic locks, writing invoices, making dinner plans or reorganizing drawers in our kitchen.
She cooked every day a delicous vegetarian dish and she did once a week a sweet treat for snacking. We loved all her dishes. She made great meal suggestions for the whole family.
She was sometimes looking after our baby boy. He was enchanted by her calm and friendly nature and never cried when Lucie was around him.
Lucie will be a great benefit to any host, we could not recommend her enough. We are sorry that she is leaving.

I spent three months with Sabine and her little family even though I only planned on staying for about six weeks. I had a wonderful time!!! Sabine is very caring and attentive and ALWAYS there if you need anything. We had a delicious exchange of recipes and if I wanted something to snack Sabine would bring it with her :) I felt very comfortable… read more and appreciated and integrated. The house is tidy and clean (if you do your part ;)), something I was looking for.
You don‘t have to do a lot of childcare and no changing nappies or bringing Thomas to bed, so just the easy stuff. He is really cute and nice to play with.
The work in the office was mostly very easy and gave an interesting insight in the tourism business. I worked a few hours extra which Sabine Paid.
If I didn’t want to do anything I could just tell Sabine, so don’t worry ;) What was especially remarkable is that I never got bored or too overwhelmed by work.
Killarney is a wonderful town. You’ve got everything you need only ten minutes by foot away: pubs, restaurants, a cinema and quite a few shops. The national park is breathtaking with its lakes and mountains and enchanted little trails. There is a lot of time to explore the surroundings like the beautiful ring of Kerry, the national park, the coastline or to visit other towns like Tralee or Dingle.
I recommend Sabine’s family if you’re looking for exploring Ireland’s southwest and different tasks from day to day and a lovely family to live with.

I stayed three month with Sabine. It was a wonderful time. Killarney is a lovely city and the national park is beautiful. Sabine lives with her son Thomas in a nice little house in Killarney. Thomas is a easy going child that you enjoy spending time with. Sabine is very friendly too. You can ask her anything and she'll try to answer your questions… read more in the best way possible. You'll work five hours a day (Monday to Friday) but every day is different so it's never boring. In your freetime you can do a lot of different things. Killarney has a lot to offer, so you could go to the city or for a walk in the national park. All in all it was an amazing time with a lot of new experiences and I couldn't wish for an better place!

I spent almost 4 months at Sabine's. Before I came to Ireland I planned to stay only for a month, but Sabine and her little son Thomas were very nice and I felt very welcome so I decided to stay longer. The work I had to do was very diversified and there was always something to do. Sabine works in the tourism industry so she gave me lots of tipps… read more how to discover Killarney and the surroundings. Killarney is a beautiful town and offers a variety of activities. The landscape and the national park are impressing and give the opportunity to go for hike or a bicycletour. All in all I am very happy with my abidance in Ireland and especially with my stay at Sabine's. I made so many new experiences and met some very nice people.
