Description
If you want to experience a slice of heaven on earth, we might be right for you. We are a 10 acre family homestead in Winlaw, BC. This is the heart of the Slocan Valley! Life here is special. We raise poultry as well as a large garden. Workaway volunteers will help in the family garden as well as with the various projects that go with homestead life.
Workawayers will not be helping with any produce at all that is sold and only with produce that is for our own private consumption.
Daily help will vary from day to day according to the seasons. We have a small cabin, a trailer with a wood stove, and camping spots to stay in. Food will be provided if you’re helping 4-5 hours a day . Most times will need to do your own cooking and clean up, however we enjoy shared meals sometimes as well.
I am a Health Canada Licensed Hemp and Cannabis farmer. Employees from the community work on the farm seasonally. I cannot offer workaway guests paid employment at this time. You will need to have enough monetary funds to supply your own personal needs.
Please bring appropriate clothing and foot wear as well as a good head light or flashlight .World class outdoor activities including skiing, hiking, fishing, rock climbing, and mountain biking are all close by.

Help
Family homestead and garden help. We are always busy . Fire wood, and putting the farm to rest for winter will be some of the upcoming projects. Cooking skills are always appreciated. We are drying and canning garden produce and wild mushrooms. Carpentry skills are awesome. I have been slowly rebuilding a small house over the last 10 years. There’s still drywall to hang, painting,a bathroom to tile the floor etc. I also have two school busses that are being renovated. If you have computer or social media skills, I am developing my online presence and could use help.

I stayed here for 2 months during summer/fall and it is a beautiful piece of land surrounded by the forest and the mountains. I had a lot of fun taking care of their plants and sometimes their cats who were very aware that I speak cat (I miss Bigglesworth!). It is a good place.
