We are a small, comfortable yet lively hostel located in the heart of Belgrade- just round the corner from republic square, as central as you can be! There is plenty to see and do in the immediate area of our hostel. We are in the leafy neighbourhood of dorcol where you can find plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants just metres away from our building. Also being around the corner from the square many of the tourist attractions and tours are accessible within 2-10 mins walking distance.
Belgrade is a city oozing with various cultural exchange opportunities. There’s a wide range of museums and the country and the Balkan region has a fascinating history. We can also point you in the right direction if you wish to attend cultural exchange events in the city such as language cafes etc.
The volunteers job shall be to look after the hostel when the owner is out of the building and to assist where possible. Volunteers should be outgoing and sociable with guests as well as helping to keep the hostel as clean as possible. Help may also be required changing beds and laundry if we are busy. The shifts when you look after the hostel shall be flexible and can be put in place to meet both of our needs. There will be some scope for you to take several days off in a row if you wish to explore Serbai outwith Belgrade. When you are supervising the hostel just make sure the place runs smoothly and check in any new gues as well as contributing to a warm, comfortable and joyful atmosphere by socialising with the guests. Additionally just make sure that the hostel remains clean - if a drink is spilt wipe it up etc. The work shall be simple and straightforward.
You shall receive a bed in our 6 bed dorm (smallest room). Additionally you shall receive free meals when they are made for the whole hostel and some free rakija!
We aim for the hostel to be inclusive for everyone and for a fun, vibrant atmosphere to be created. Our favourite thing to do is when we have nice weather and a good group of people is to spend the day having some drinks on the balcony and cooking some delicious food.
There’s plenty to see in the city and there’s a vibrant nightlife that is amongst the best in Europe - from quiet neighbourhood bars located around our hostel to the boat clubs on the river - there’s heaps of fun to be had. We can also arrange for you to take a few days off in a row if you wish to take a trip to somewhere else in Serbia such as Novi Sad or Tara National Park.
