🌊 Would you like to live on the beach and be part of a project on Chacahua Island that combines art, well-being, and personal growth?
💛✨ Imagine waking up to the sound of the ocean, surrounded by untouched nature between the mangroves and the beach, creating art, building with your hands, learning from nature, and exploring a lifestyle outside the system.
🎨 Our vision: To create a space where everyone can find peace and reconnect with nature, offering a place to create, rest, heal, and grow. We aim to build a sustainable project in harmony with the natural environment.
📍 Location: A private 3.2-hectare property on Chacahua Island, Oaxaca, 20 minutes by bike from the town or 10 minutes by shared transport. We also have a boat to explore the lagoon, go fishing, or simply enjoy the scenery.
🌱 Environmental awareness: Solar panels, eco-toilets, sustainable showers, and good internet connection.
🛠️ We are looking for volunteers with experience or a willingness to learn in:
* Sustainable/ecological construction
* Agriculture and planting
* Mural art, painting, sculpture
* Documentary photography
* Spanish and English
Work: 5 hours per day, Monday to Thursday, with 3 days off to enjoy the place.
🍽️ We offer:
* One delicious meal per day (Monday to Thursday)
* Access to the seaside kitchen 🐬
* Free-time activities: surfing, yoga, fishing, hiking, boat tours, bonfires, and more

* Hammocks to wake up on the beach with the sunrise

💛✨ Imagina despertar con el sonido del océano, rodeado/a de naturaleza virgen entre el manglar y la playa, haciendo arte, construyendo con tus manos, aprendiendo de la naturaleza y explorando un estilo de vida fuera del sistema.
🎨 Nuestra visión: Crear un espacio donde todos puedan encontrar tranquilidad y reconectar con la naturaleza, ofreciendo un lugar para crear, descansar, sanar y crecer. Queremos construir un proyecto sostenible en armonía con el entorno natural.
📍 Ubicación: Terreno privado de 3.2 hectáreas en la isla de Chacahua, Oaxaca, a 20 min en bici del pueblo o 10 min en transporte colectivo. También tenemos un bote para explorar la laguna, pescar o simplemente disfrutar del paisaje.
🌱 Conciencia ambiental: Paneles solares, eco-baños, duchas sostenibles y buena conexión a internet.
🛠️ Buscamos voluntarios con experiencia o ganas de aprender en:
* Construcción sustentable/ecológica
* Agricultura y siembra
* Arte mural, pintura, escultura
* Fotografía documental
* Español e inglés
Trabajo: 5 horas al día de lunes a jueves, con 3 días de descanso para disfrutar del lugar.

Hiking is marvellous during the golden hours. You can easily get to a viewpoint from where you can admire the entire lagoon.
We go fishing together. In Chacahua it's very easy to catch nice fish, even for beginners like us.
You can improve your Spanish, English and Italian
You can learn many things from the Afro-Mexican culture of Chacahua.

Someone with knowledge on how to Start a Permaculture Garden:
1. Choose plants based on the environment.
2. Design our garden layout.
3. Build garden beds.
4. Plant a permaculture garden.
5. Add a layer of organic mulch to the topsoil.
6. Add compost without disturbing the soil.
-Carpenters/Builders
People that want to help with the construction of anything!
As I mentioned, we are at the very beginning. Even just ideas are welcome.

Space for parking camper vans
The place has plenty of space for caravans 🚐, but to access the island you need to take a boat, which costs about 1000 Mexican pesos.
Can possibly accept pets
Pets are welcome! 🐾 We love animals, but pets must be well-behaved and respectful of the local wildlife. Especially dogs need to be trained not to eat sea turtle eggs or disturb the turtles when they come ashore to lay their eggs.

I spent there just 9 days, but definitely fell in love with it.
If you just sit at the kitchen wich is at the beach you may see wales or dolphins play nearby in the ocean. We were lucky as Matteo took us fishing at the ocean and then we grilled fish for the dinner at the beach on the fire.
