    Description

Hello everyone! We are a family of seven who loves socializing and getting to know other people and cultures. We bought this farm a year ago, and with no prior farming experience, we took on the challenge and have been doing our best to make this little farm a pleasant place. Although we have some local help, we need extra assistance to keep the farm in good condition.

The farm has 3 hectares of serene nature, is located near Montargil lake and a river beach, and features the most magical starry sky. It’s perfect for a peaceful stay, away from stress and noise.

Please note: to make the farm more eco-friendly, we try to ensure that all electricity comes from solar panels with batteries, but we also have a generator. On days with less sunlight, the energy from the panels may not be enough, especially if air conditioning is needed. In such cases, it may be necessary to turn on the generator (which charges the batteries).

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Our family loves to travel, and we're eager to meet people with different backgrounds or cultures to share stories and experiences. The farm is usually used by different family members (not always at the same time), aged between 19 and 62.

  • Help

    Help

We need some help with cleaning the property (grass cutting, etc.), pruning fruit trees and olive trees, cleaning the swimming pool, and general cleaning of the annexes of the main house. We have a tractor to assist with some of the tasks.

    Accommodation

The main house has two bedrooms, one with two single beds and the other with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom. In the living room, there is a sofa bed by the fireplace. There is also an extra bathroom available. Depending on how many people are staying at the time, we’ll make sure everyone has a comfortable spot to sleep.

When it comes to food, if there are family members at the house, at least one meal a day will be cooked together in the kitchen, perhaps with a nice wine from Alentejo to enjoy! :) If no one is at the house, guests can cook for themselves. On a case-by-case basis, we can discuss and agree on the best way to proceed depending on who is in the house when you come.

Please note that access to the house is via a dirt road, which is not problematic for most of the year but can retain some puddles during the rainier winter months. If your mode of transport is a low car, please ask us about the condition of the road before making your booking.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There are many activities to enjoy during your free time, and this house is perfect for water sports enthusiasts. Just 6 km from the farm, you can go kayaking, sailing, and water skiing on Montargil Lake. You can visit the river beach to soak up the sun (which is very hot in the summer months), try sport fishing in Gameiro, and visit the Mora Aquarium, which has various species of river fish. For hiking lovers, we recommend walks on the boardwalks near the Mora Aquarium. About 25 km from the farm, you can visit the beautiful and historic city of Évora, a true gem of the Alentejo, known for the Roman Temple of Diana and the beautiful Praça do Giraldo.

In your free time, you can also enjoy artistic activities on the farm, as there’s plenty of space, or listen to music without worrying about neighbors complaining, or relax by our swimming pool (as long as it’s clean :))

    Can host digital nomads

Digital nomads can work at the dining room table or on the sofa in the living room by the fireplace. Unfortunately, the farm doesn't have fiber internet, so we have a small modem, but it works well, especially inside the house. If you need more technical information, feel free to ask!
