We had all the food we needed (and then some) and ate so many delicious meals. Zoe is a fantastic cook.
The area in Somerset where they are located is beautiful. There were plenty of hikes/bike rides to take right outside their door. When we wanted to travel a little further, they were always happy to give us a lift to the train station. I've met amazingly kind people and got to enjoy the finer things of British culture. Staying with this family is definitely the best choice I've made this year. They never forgot to ask me if I need something or if I feel comfortable.
They are also amazing parents and I admire their patience with their children, who can be exhausting. But they have great personalities and can make you laugh, especially Oscar, who always wants to make you smile.
They have a beautiful house surrounded by a few fields. I had the luxury to live in my own cosy one-room house right next to the main house with my own bathroom and kitchen. Not to forget the stove, which makes the room even in the coldest days nice and warm.
Zoe is the most amazing cook, she always cooked delicious and healthy food for the whole family and explained me why the ingredients are good for you:blush:
So I got many new cooking ideas and new recipes from their special cookery books!
Thank you so much for the great meals!
My work included general help with the kids, some gardening, painting and a few cleaning jobs. Also to walk with the dog teasel, which is a pleasure because she´s so well-behaved that you can easy run or cycle with her.
I was lucky that some of the sheep’s where lambing during my stay, so I had the possibility to feed one of the lamb with a bottle.
During my free time I explored the beautiful area. From Bruton you can easily catch the train to visit nice cities around like Bristol, Bath, Wells and Glastonbury. When you are lucky you have the possibility to go to the Frome independent market which is so impressive.
Zoe had many ideas for my trips and tried to help me with lifts to the train station.
The whole family is really sociable, so I really enjoyed the many people, who came across.
Wish you all the best for the future and your projects and hope to see you again:wink:You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
