Description
The farm is a small-scale organic farm with a focus on self-sufficiency instead of seeking production and trying to make money. We are trying our best to create a sustainable livelihood and habitat for us who lives on the farm so we can live in harmony and unison with nature.
We grow vegetables, bread grain, and feed for the animals. We have cows, sheep, hens, horses, cats, and a dog. It is very important to us that animals live their lives in the most natural way possible. The farm is surrounded by beautiful environment with nature all around. If you come and stay with us you will experience traditional farming and how it is to live on a small farm with a focus on self-sufficiency.
You can learn about cultivating the land, taking care of the animals, building fences, growing vegetables, dairy work, baking, preparing and preserving food, old traditional farming technic, forestry, different kind of handicrafts (depending of the season of course) . For us, the most important is that the people that come to us are positive, open-minded, and responsible people that are really interested in sustainable living and small-scale farming. Here we are living in a community and all working as a team, and we share the responsibility for the daily shores like household and farm duties. We work hard but we also have a lot of fun. We can promise you that you will learn a lot if you are volunteering at our place and you will get an experience for life!
No smoking or drugs are allowed!
Good things to bring to the farm is: Rubber boots, indoor slippers, headlamp for the dark season. We also want you to use environment-friendly hygiene products like soap, shampoo, etc.
Organic methods: We are using traditional small-scale and ecological methods. We are inspired by the methods that were used in area before 1950. We work a lot by hand and with horse-driven machinery most of the time, but also small tractor. We are also inspired by permaculture.
