Description
I have a boat that is moored on the Hunter river, Stockton side. It’s a 41 foot ketch that is quite nice inside. Kitchen lounge dining area bedroom toilet, no shower. And to get out to the boat you have to paddle a dinghy. I have life jackets and safety gear on the boat including a marine radio.
Up until recently I’ve been living on the boat but no plans to do so in the medium term now, so this is a boat for you to stay on without a host.
It’s a steel boat and it has rust here and there on the deck and the cockpit area. So I’m after someone who knows how to use their hands and might like to chip away at the rust in exchange for staying on the boat. My expectations are reasonable, I’m hoping for somebody who will enjoy their time and not feel burdened, and at the same time I would need to see some headway being made over time.Types of help and learning opportunities
DIY and building projects
General Maintenance
Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
For me it’s mostly about sharing and having a good time. We can all learn from each other. For travellers I would love to share some things about this country, show you around a bit, and also invite you to enjoy a place to stay for a while and feel free to do your own thing.
Help
Working on the rust involves using battery tools that require a bit of strength and skill, so some experience would be necessary. I would provide protective gear required.

told me how to board the boat even though he was not in town.
The work was fair and the stay was comfortable and unique.
Elliot was kind and friendly. I enjoyed chatting with him and he showed me a cool limitless surf break which you would drive straight past normally.
