Description
I am building a shared living space amongst the trees most of the way up a small mountain near Booral, NSW Australia. So far there is a timber cabin (almost complete), outdoor sheltered kitchen, flushing toilet, hot shower and bush spa. There is a small vegetable garden made of wicking beds), and chickens. Sleeping quarters for guests is a bell tent suspended from a tree, a large tent on the ground, or in the cabin if it's free. This is about sharing, so I would love to have people join me at times. Helping with work would be flexible, however you feel led. Transport can be arranged from Newcastle as I work there two days a week as a tree services contractor in partnership with my son. (Treesmith Newcastle is our business name). If you arrive by car it's a long steep track that gets you to the ridge where the cabin is. I have been driving a two wheel drive Holden Astra up here, but most people would call it four wheel drive only. If you have a car that you want to be careful of, I can pick you up from the bottom of the hill. One hour's drive north of Newcastle. Not far from the Barrington Tops. A wilderness experience very much off the grid.

For me this is mostly about sharing and having a good time. We can all learn from each other. For travellers I would love to share some things about this country, show you around a bit, and also invite you to enjoy a place to stay for a while and feel free to do your own thing.
Help
Generally helping with things around the place. No particular skills necessary but the projects include building, gardening, setting up simple off grid living systems. Also removing lantana.
