What a wonderful stay. The place is beautiful, with a many of wild flowers in the field and natural built bouses (I stayed in the Dome). It was relaxing experience to be back to basic and live closer to nature. I stayed a little more than a week. During my time there was another volunteer, whocj made working together enjoyable. We helped with mulching and some natural ‘construction’. It was amazing to learn to make a clay mixture and a clay wall. The food was good- lots of fruit and healthy options (the buckwheat pizza was a welcome supprise) – and there was flexibility to make your food. A small lake nearby was perfect for frequent swim and one day we went to the beach in Milfontes.. It was fun to share some fermentation recipe. Beyond the nice activities and the beautiful place, I especially enjoyed the converstations with Sophie, Angelina (the other volunteer), Besi and Hano. We had meaningful talks about life and the world. I will bring some lessons with me home, especially their vision of giving back to nature and life with its rhythm. I wish you all the best and who knows we meet in the future

Mary and Leo are a joy to have around. Both are very committed to tasks given to them and take great pride in their work. They are very caring and kind people and make every effort to fit in and help where they can, I only have good things to say and highly recommend them.

We spent 2 perfect weeks with Michele and his young-spirited mum Nicla. From the first moment we felt very welcome. Staying at La Tiny House we had our own privacy but were close to the main house if we needed anything. We enjoyed working in the garden and around the house, we could even come up with our own suggestions for projects :) Despite the untypically rainy weather in May we managed to visit many interesting places, incl. mountains, beaches, ancient cities and make the most of our time. Martin as a chef particularly appreciated the cultural exchange focused on cuisine and learned some secret tips from Michele and his mum for the local dishes. I tried my best to use my A2 level Italian, thanks for your patience! Our dog Spajky was also welcome, although he would often test the agility of the local cats :) Michele and his mum engaged us in local activities like visiting the market, the local party or the best ice cream place and provided many local tips where to go and what to visit. We were lucky to experience the atmosphere of the 2026 Giro d'Italia as well :) Don't be discouraged by the narrow street leading to the house. The place has a lovely vibe and excellent view. La presencia de Anette en nuestra casa ha sido sumamente agradable. Se adapto perfectamente a las tareas encomendadas, siendo además muy independiente. Recorrió la isla en los días libres y se puede decir que como voluntaria es perfecta. Además disfrutó con nuestras comidas.

I had a great fall and winter with Fabia and Tommi. We were living in co-habitat and it added so much to my daily life. I loved having them around and we also gave each other good privacy. They were super helpful to have around the business and took great care of my big dogs. This is a great young couple! I was also able to leave the operation in their hands and travel and work. They took care of customer side adminstration, customer communication, cleaning of rental units, problem solving etc. Fabia and Tommi became my friends and we also had many nice parties and listen to a lot of good music together. Lovely people. Tommi and Fabia are welcome back any time, to work or as friends! Solid people. Love you!

Cliff was an amazing host. I was Helping with hauling branches. Feeding chickens harvesting veggies. Making salads.playing with dogs! I felt part of the family. Eating meals was always so fun to chat and share life stories . A beautiful experience!!

It has been a real delight having this lovely mother-and-daughter duo at home with us. Simone has a really nice energy about her, she's super easy-going and flexible but at the same time really efficient when asked to get things done. She’s really able to manage her time easily between being present for her gorgeous daughter and accomplishing whatever is asked of her around the house and garden. I totally trust her to be with my daughter, who is older now and doesn’t need much but I can see she has a way with smaller children and I wouldn’t hesitate to leave a smaller child with her. Simone is a very trustworthy person with whom you can speak about anything and she will tell you honestly if she can manage any task you may request of her. She’s also very quiet around the house and can adapt well to changing plans with a calm attitude always. It’s been a really easy co-living situation. Her daughter is so cute as well - I could not communicate much with her due to language barriers but we warmed to each other a lot. She’s able to play quietly by herself for quite long periods. I would highly recommend them as workaways!

Lucas & Talea are two wonderful people who we got to know well during their stay at our place. They have a hart of gold and we really enjoyed to have them amongst us for a couple of weeks. From the start it already felt very natural and we had lot of good moments, wines and conversations together. And we had the most delicious pizza's during the pizza night they organised for us. Also, they we're super cool with our young daughter, which we really loved to see! They helped us with lots of things, like making a new balcony fence, a dinner table and improving the swim spot. We would describe both as kind, considerate people that are happy to help where needed. And also bring a long some nice woodworking skills! You should check out their van ;) We wish them an amazing journey and hope to see them again some day!

We were so lucky to find Alex at a time when we needed urgent help to look after our two elderly dogs and cat so we could go to Canada for a funeral. He was the perfect match, caring, calm and very considerate. We were reassured to have a mature person here with so much experience of his own pets as well as looking after others. This was particularly important because our lovely dog Barney was not well and sadly died whilst we were away. Alex handled the situation with sensitivity and we will always be grateful to him. We were very happy that Alex wanted to stay on for a few weeks after to help us out and he enjoyed the English way of life. We will always be grateful for your hard work Alex and hope to see you again.

Simply put, my shop wouldn't have survived its opening season without Gabi. In work he is knowledgeable, creative, and responsible, and as a person he is adventurous, respectful, and charming. I'm grateful to have had him on the team, and I'm sure he'd excel anywhere.

Jemima and her family were incredibly kind and welcoming. From the moment I arrived, they always made sure I felt comfortable and at home. I truly enjoyed spending time with the family, helping with the dogs, and being part of their daily life. The work was fair, the communication was clear, and I always felt appreciated. I will definitely miss the dogs and all the wonderful moments we shared. Thank you for making my stay such a warm and memorable experience. I hope to visit again one day.

Fredi's youthful exuberance kept all the staff in high spirits- work doesn't feel like work with him around. He was missed terribly by everyone the second he left. Anyone would be lucky to have him on their team.

Our time with Inga, Floh, Philea and Linea was absolutely incredible. The weeks went by much faster than we expected. From the start, they made us feel welcome and were always kind and thoughtful. We enjoyed many nice conversations and often ate together (and Floh is a really good cook!). During our stay, we helped out with various things around the house and spent time with their two lovely and very energetic daughters. Our room was comfortable, with a large desk and reliable WiFi, which works well for digital nomads. Traben-Trarbach is a beautiful little town on the Mosel, and there are plenty of nice hikes nearby. It's also a good place to stay if you want to explore the Mosel region or take trips to Luxembourg and the surrounding villages. We had enough free time to do our own thing, and Inga and Floh were always happy to give advice and recommendations, especially when it came to getting around by train and public transport. It was hard to say goodbye when it was time to leave. We're leaving with lots of good memories and are really grateful for the experience. Hopefully, we'll get the chance to visit again someday. We can't recommend enough!

Chloe and Maya were a great addition to our team. They executed everything that was asked of them without complaint. They would be a great addition to anyone looking to host them! We wish them well on all their life's adventures!

We spent two and a half months here and fell in love with the place from the first day. Salvo is a very generous person, both with his knowledge and with the beautiful space he has built over the years, he always made us feel at home. We’ve learned so much about permaculture doing different tasks almost every day, apart from shoveling :)) We shared delicious and abundant meals prepared with ingredients from the garden and ate A LOT of blood oranges, this is something we truly appreciated. The work done there was organized and we are grateful that we have seen a season passing by, it felt like the time was flying. We spent some time with Sasha, went to the beach with Nuri and every day we were amazed by the beautiful view of Etna. The generosity and abundance that can be found here is not something you find everywhere. It's crazy that we can't really think something bad about this place besides the fact that Salvo will forget us soon, to make sure that this doesn't happen we will come back ;) We will take you in our hearts, see you again soon <3

Ytsen were a very pleasant guest. Very calm and thoughtful. Extremely focused on all the many small and large handyman projects, which he carried out with great care and attention to detail. It also made me very happy to see that you always found time to give my animals some attention. Luna and Ronja truly appreciated and enjoyed your love and affection. Zatzi certainly did, and even shy little Krümmel decided to make friends with you on the very last evening. Your calm nature and your polite, respectful manner were greatly appreciated by all of us. Thank you very much for the time we shared together.

C'est un plaisir d'avoir reçu Zoé et Mikaia, elles étaient enthousiaste pour toutes les tâches. On toujours fait de leur mieux pour correctement accomplir ce que nous demandions. Ça été un échange harmonieux, fluide, avec pleins de belles conversations et rire. Nous avions deux amis à la maison et c'est un avec plaisir que nous les reverrons encore ! <3

It's difficult to write a review for someone who stopped feeling like a volunteer a long time ago! What was meant to be a shorter stay turned into a much longer one, and our team couldn't have been happier about it. He quickly found his place within our organization and became someone we trusted across different projects, teams and plans (fully embracing multitasking reality of humanitarian work). Life in a small grassroots organization is rarely straightforward. There are always multiple things happening at once, and everyone needs to be ready to contribute wherever needed. He embraced that reality from the start, bringing professionalism, organization, initiative and a willingness to help wherever he could add value. Over time, he became a genuine ambassador for our work and values. Not because anyone asked him to, but because he cared about the mission and the community around him. More importantly, he reminded us that meaningful impact is found in the relationships built, the trust earned and the positive energy left behind. We know this is not the end of our journey together, and we look forward to seeing what comes next. We only hope that we became a home away from home during his time here! Asante sana, rafiki yetu.
