We are a hostel and community support organisation with big dreams. We currently own and run two pre schools which aim to have 300 students by the end of this year. We work to support our community through education, empowerment, health, sport and skills development, and can't wait to share our vision with you. We would love for you to join us and share your skills, whether they be in education, farming, finance, creativity, sustainability, community development or sporting programs. We can arrange accommodation, transport and food for you during your stay.
This is a collaborative space creating a united vision, to help influence, support and develop our local community.
Hey my name is Katia and this is my story;
I was born in Sydney Australia to my German mother and Scottish father but when I was very young I moved to Europe spending most of my childhood on the south coast of England, Bournemouth!! Once I finished education I left England for Tanzania.
What was first just a visit became my whole life. It was right there and then that I decided I wanted to dedicate my whole life to help those who need it. After travelling to 33 countries I had seen suffering and the help that was needed around the globe.
My travels recently took me to Ukraine where I was delivering humanitarian aid across the front line! I was stood 4 km from the Russian Border and I also had a moment like before where I also knew I didn't want to be anywhere else in the world other than helping in areas that need it.
I'm so grateful for all these experiences and look forward to my next adventure. The world is an incredible place and I'm so lucky to have found my passion and my reason for being here. I also am in love with Tanzania. There is not place quite like it. I don't think I will be leaving any time soon!!
This project is my life's work but I most certainly didn't do it alone. There is an incredible ground team who are just waiting to meet you. We can't wait to share more information about what we do and what we will do in the future. The world awaits. We ensure that you will get the chance to try all the local food and experiences!! With each volunteer we provide a trusted local contact who will help them navigate and show them around!

Arbeit
We have a wide range of projects open for volunteers to get involved in. We are really keen to hear what you want to do with your project and really make it your own, using previous skills, while also learning amazing new ones that can't be learnt elsewhere. Here is a list of areas which we need help in, but we are always open to new and exciting suggestions!
Education:
1. Montessori Teaching:
We are currently working on incorporating Montessori learning into both our schools curriculum with help from professional Montessori teachers. Alongside these teachers we have an architect designing the best possible Montessori specific classroom for our kids, this is going to be made 100% from fully sustainable and recyclable materials.
2. College Partnership.
We have a college partnership for older students teaching various subjects and life skills providing students with skills to pursue future careers. There are so many projects that are on the go, all working towards our main goal! These include foreign language classes and many more. We can't wait to tell you what our future plans with the college are and how you can help us!
3. Teaching Foreign languages
We have so many students who are keen to learn all the time from languages to something fun and new that you can show them! At the moment we run English and German classes but this will expand over to Spanish and French. We also plan on running sewing classes for our women empowerment program.
4. IT skills and social media.
We are doing a heavy push in social media at the moment this also means creating content for websites and other branding materials. We are always keen to have photographers or videographers on board. We fly our drone a lot and also use our GoPro but our still shots are lacking!!
5. Sports Program:
Currently there are very minimal sports programs in place throughout the local community and this is something we strongly believe should be changed. We plan to start up frequent football games and training for the youth as well as a wide mix of ages. We are yet to see any girls playing football around this area and are keen to encourage their involvement. Our sports program aren't limited football, we plan to get a wide range of sport and exercise involved in the schools as well as making it apart of the curriculum as the current sporting opportunities at school are nonexistent.
6. Construction work.
At all of our centres we are always in need of maintenance and general manual labour, if you're up for designing and building a classroom or painting and maintenance this area of work is waiting for you!
7. Teacher Training:
Through the help of partnerships, previous and current volunteers we have helped train up quality teachers in Tanzania. This is something that we really strive to continue doing at the highest possible level.
8. Curriculum Improvements:
We have just completed a huge curriculum revamp, thanks to current and previous volunteers but always keen to hear new ideas from new people and to help grow our professional partnerships, in order to improve our curriculum consistently.
Sustainability:
1. Architecture
We already have an amazing lead architect, who will be leading the vast majority of all the construction projects, but if architecture is your passion, they will be more than happy to work alongside you and assist with your projects.
2. Permaculture/Farming
We are all very new to the permaculture side of things, however we have made a lot of good partners to assist with our future projects while also building up our knowledge of permaculture in this particular area, which is completely different to anywhere else on the planet. We are keen to gain anyone interested in this aspect of things and together we can work together and make something incredible.
Communications:
1. Partnerships.
Growing our partnerships is a massive role and everyone can be a part of it. All volunteers and members of this organisation are from very different backgrounds and know a lot of different people across the world, all of which can be useful with growing the organisation's partnerships of potential contacts who can aid or guide this organisation to something even bigger than it already is. This can be through connections with individuals and other organisations.
2. PR.
We already have an amazing but small PR team, this being an area we want to grow and improve to the highest of standards. Through this it will massively help the whole organisation by publicising and promoting all the incredible work being done on the ground here in Arusha, Tanzania.
Others Potential Projects:
1. Hostel Improvements.
Our hostel is so new and we are always in need of new ideas to improve it. We would love some artists or creative thinkers to give our hostel the extra special feeling!
2. Orphanage Start up.
3. Accounting and Micro Finance Startup.
There is a lot of work to do here and It's all to benefit the children's education.
