  • Description

This is a friendly, family run, historic, beautiful farm/hostel/posada, in the process of also becoming an organic farm, self-sustaining spa, and Shamanic center, together with an international Yoga school which already exists, in full operation and in the process of growing. Hostel and Yoga operations are managed independently, but articulated. Located in a convenient and strategic place to explore the spectacular surrounding region of Sugamuxi in the department of Boyacá.

Our family is made of world travelers, but now after traveling for several years and seeing various corners around the world, we decided it was time to share what we have learned and open to the public what it was only our family farm so people can come and visit us. We love to hear the stories and experiences travelers share with us, and we are thrilled to share our knowledge of this beautiful and spectacular region with you!

We need a maximum of four volunteers, two at the farm/hostel and eventually other two for one of our side/parallel projects, near by in this region, who would like to come and stay with us, having free accommodation and breakfast, in exchange of some volunteer help as gardener, watering the plants, general maintenance, builder, taking care of animals, cleaner, farmer, help with eco projects, help in the reception of the hostel, online marketing, social media management, animal care, art project, systematizing certain processes or just basic help with computers, among other possibilities that we can analyze here depending on your skills, interests and background. There is always something new happening at our place, and there is always space for new and fresh ideas to improve the way we handle the hostel, the farm, our various projects and life in general!

For this, we expect at least 4, ideally 5 hours of help every day, in exchange for accommodation, breakfast, and a safe and decent place to live in a very dynamic world traveller’s and spiritual environment.

WE EXPECT volunteers to come with enthisiasm, self-initiative, a positive attitude and a high level of responsibility into what they will be doing here as volunteers. We want to explain and facilitate things, and to build it up together from there, but not to keep on reminding it (not a police-like relation, neither a babysitter-type, and we hope you understand this and help us to get a win-win result, to keep it light and constructive for both, instead of heavy). Surprise us with your attitude! - therefore that is what we expect from you. Please tell us in your mail of contact what do you expect from us too!

The best experiences we have had with volunteers from a great variety of places around the world over the last 5+ years, is with people who are RESPONSIBLE, WHO ARE SINCERELY ENGAGED in what we do here, WILLING TO HELP OPENLY BECAUSE IT COMES FROM THEIR HEART, willing also to teach us better ways of doing things but also open to learn what we may teach them. Many volunteers have become like our family. WE WOULD RATHER HAVE VOLUNTEERS STAY WITH US AT LEAST A MONTH AND NOT CONSIDER THIS AS A WAY TO HAVE A CHEAP PLACE TO STAY ON THEIR HOLIDAYS; for this we already have many paying guests who pass through this beautiful region and stay at the farm for a while on their journey.

Please send us a message with information about yourself, letting us know what you would be willing to do here as a volunteer, what is it that you like the most from our profile and answer the question of why you think you are the right person (or couple) to come and volunteer at our Finca. Also let us know when more or less you would like to start and how long you would like to stay here as a volunteer. We prefer applications of volunteers who will be willing to first come for a mutual two-three days trial period which we think is a healthy practice for you and for us and then willing to stay at least one month as previously mentioned.

If you have a better idea of how to start this process, and how to introduce each other in a more positive and healthy way, please let us know. We only give suggestions and we are open for new or better ways of doing things.

The idea is to build, together with you, as much as possible, a harmonious atmosphere between giving and receiving. This is our opinion of how a volunteering program should work like.

What is important is that both, you and us, can have a beneficial and constructive experience out from this.

    Wishing you happiness and love,
The small team of people who work and live on this small place of the world :)

  • Accommodation

The accommodation available for volunteers at the moment is in a space within a dormitory that most of the time we have it only for volunteers and students of yoga. It varies from time to time though, and sometimes volunteers of our hostel lead the room! :)

We may also have a little cabin for volunteers with two floors, on the second floor there is a room with two double deck beds and on the first floor is the bathroom and shower, a little kitchen and a living room. This cabin is often used by our yoga teachers, so it may not be available at the time you come as volunteer.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Volunteers can do a lot here in their time off, such as Yoga, trekking, go to thermal pools, biking, visit the amazing colonial towns around, read, dance, learn new skills, etc.

We consider this region spectacular (yes, we love it!) and has a lot to offer to visitors. It is a genuine and barely-touched-by-travellers region of Colombia, therefore it is an area to taste local culture in real.

People, friends and family, here are very friendly and most of the time volunteers end up doing lots of things with them.
Transport around is very easy and convenient and we are only 15 minutes walk to the city which has everything you will need.

Volunteers can benefit here in many ways, but it will depend very much on their attitude, that means if he or she is open, sincere and possitve. Just as an example, they can improve their Spanish (and we can help on that), know about gardening, explore this spectacular region, leave bad habits, improve their life style, learn Yoga, enjoy and learn from our culture and so on...

We provide facilities, and will be always open to help and guide you into more so for you to interchange with a positive-for-all mind, and get the best of your stay with us and the region.
