    UPDATE November, 2017

Thanks everyone for being in touch. Our next vacancies are:-

    1. for a skilled and resilient couple or single on 1st March, 2018 for three or four months.
    2. for an experienced gardener/maintenance hand and hospitality giver from towards the end of April, 2018 for two or three months.

We are Valery and David with a 3 hectare organically evolved homestead in the CAIRNGORMS NATIONAL PARK of Northern Scotland. Here, since 1974, we welcome visitors to a mountain hut style 8 bed hostel, and a 4 pitch summer lightweight camping ground. For couples arriving they may stay at our 3 bespoke and rustic huts. Here too are Soay sheep with lambs, a pond full of waterfowl, a scatter of hens, flower and vegetable garden with salad growing polytunnel, plus Django the attentive spaniel.

Rachel from Hawkes Bay, NZ is our manager and she organises most things here. In the last 16 years we have hosted over one hundred international Volunteer Helpers who help us greatly in everything we do.
Most Volunteer Helpers find their way to us completely independently. We are though more than happy to hear from Workawayers interested in joining in.

While we have a full staff team here together with regular help from locals in the village we just love sharing experiences with you international Volunteer Helper folk particularly when we can learn something from you too. Have a look at our website, particularly its 'volunteering page' and if you can see yourself as a part of our busy and purposeful team then please do get in touch. When you have told us about yourself and what you are looking for in your time away we can skype together and talk things over to see whether we might suit one another.

Currently we would welcome a single or couple able to join us for between 2 and 4 months starting 1st March and able to give us 25 hours a week over 5 days. You would have your own new build quirky hut with covered garden as accommodation, a generous contribution to your food costs, impromptu hospitality and a welcome at our house. Free bread, a share of the hens' eggs, free, wifi, laundry, bike loan are also on offer together with a host of different experiences many of which may be new to you.

"Small is Beautiful". While giving everything we can to our guests we also have a lot of fun. Do come.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

All volunteering with us is a two way exercise. You help us and we hope to help you in developing your skills, understanding our culture and perhaps, who knows, even in personal growth. You are welcome to join in alongside our Team, neighbouring volunteers, our village and the Cairngorms National Park. We both guide you and maybe learn from you and encourage you to explore and participate wherever possible in the rich Scottish scene surrounding us. Explore by a bike we can lend you, on foot, by bus, on the steam railway, visit Highland Games, Motor Mania, drama, talks, music, festivals. Each time of the year has something going on. If you bring a musical instrument or can play our guitar or piano you will have an instant fan club. When we had clarsach and bag pipes being played here alongside our Bluthner piano we had a festival of our own. Superb
