    Description

Do you like healthy exercise, good company, fresh air, natural surroundings, peace and tranquility? Do you want to learn by doing in a centre where we practice permaculture, eco-building, and sustainable living?

We're Almudena and Robert and we run an NGO focused on ecological restoration and environmental education, based our self-built ecological centre in Cantabria, Northern Spain.

For almost two decades we have been hosting volunteers who come to work and learn with us, in theory but especially in practice, as well as enjoying cultural exchange with us and each other. We believe in life-long learning and that everyone has something to learn as well as something to teach.

At present we are expanding our existing 18-year-old forest garden as well as maintaining and improving the eco-buildings on our site. Tasks include tree planting and tree care, building maintenance and gardening work. We typically work 25 hours a week. Volunteers are expected to stay for a minimum of one week. Accommodation is in a cob cabin, caravan or tent. The midday meal is communal; volunteers are responsible for their own breakfast and evening meals which they can prepare in the shared kitchen, for which we provide the basic ingredients.
