We are small cooperative situated in the rural area of Slovenian Istria. We are group of people striving for sustainable lifestyle that we describe as luxurious simplicity. We fulfill 60% of our need for vegetables from our permaculture garden. We use dry toilets and rid beds for wastewater treatment. This enables us to reuse all water from the kitchen and bathrooms on our garden. Usually there are 6-15 people in the house, depending of circumstances. We often have visiting friends and guests that come and go and are temporarily part of the community. Occasionally we organise workshops or host meetings. The place is surrounded by nature and very peaceful.

Help in the house
Volunteers are welcome for help with our daily tasks. Sometimes it is preparing wood for winter, sometimes is working on the garden or there is some construction work to do. Sometimes we offer helping hand to our neighbours or other farmers in the area. When we organise workshops and at these occasions we need help in the kitchen and in the house.
You will experience calm lifestyle in connection with nature, where daily rhythms are adapted to the weather and the season. You'll enjoy pristine nature, excellent vegetarian cuisine, long walks and deep talks. You might have opportunity to attend some of the workshops that we organise.

Accommodation is in an old but fully renovated house. There are 4-5 beds in the bedrooms, compost toilets, hot water in the showers, common kitchen where we prepare meals together and backyard garden where we are planning to build an outdoor kitchen. As we recycle all the water from the kitchen and the bathroom we insist on using ecological cosmetics and detergents. There is wi-fi in the house.
We are easygoing and openminded people. Most of us have been volunteers ourselves, we still are. We encourage volunteers to self manage their time according to their tasks and weather conditions. There is some structure in the daily schedule, which can be adapted according to needs of the moment and the group. We practice inclusive governance by using Sociocracy as a method. We call meetings once a week to share our thoughts on what is good and what could be improved and address any issue that might need attention.
During the free time you can hike surrounding hills and valleys or visit the coastal area and charming small towns Piran, Izola, Portoroz or go and explore croatian side of Istra. We are very happy to give you advice on what to see and where to go.
There are a few buses every day from Koper to Hrvoji or Belvedur (no buses on weekends!).
