    Description

Small beach-front western style hostel engaged with Community Permaculture program, just opening ,located on the sandy shores of Baloho bay on the island of Nias. Situated just 15 to 20mins from some of the best surfing waves in the world, while still central to waterfalls, lush rain-forest valleys, pristine beaches and fish filled, coral laden coastline. The cultural hub of Nias Culture, unique to all of Indonesia, offers the only active Megalithic culture in all of Asia, hidden in the jungle, away from civilization. Be one of the first to endure our awful road that ends with breathtaking world-class sunsets falling away with your worries behind the bay. Don't take our word for it, just look at the pictures.

We have now engaged with a certified permaculture practitioner. We have 20 acres of land 10 minutes from here that will be developed to fruit and vegetable permaculture and biodynamic farming. First of its kind in North Sumatra. There are 2000 mature Mahogony trees and an old building in desperate need of repair but wanted to accommodate future workaways , this will be for the builders...lots of clearing and planting.. lots of work to do here. We have already established a number of grow beds very close to us so plenty 100% organic vegetable are on the way.
This is a self funded Community Program wanting to engage with local farmers interested in developing new skills in Organics and biodynamics. We intend to showcase this through this place and want to attract more funding (online) and increased work contribution.
General run-of-the-mill hostel duties. Some gardening, tending to the vegetables, entertaining guests and booking in/out and cleaning duties. We also need to continuously improve our on-line presence so that skill set will not go unnoticed.
