    Description

We are looking for volunteers who want to contribute to our NGO camp site this season. Part of the tasks will be cooking, serving and cleaning. Some days we do maintenace tasks such as minor upgrades in some of the rooms, building new furniture, gardening etc.

We are usually a team of 6-8 volunteers at all times. If you are a hard-working person who likes to work in teams with varied tasks, we would like to say; Welcome!

The non profit campsite is in a beautiful location by the Oslo fjord, approximately 1 hour on the bus from Oslo.

Being part of a non profit NGO, we're sorry to say there is no opportunities to give any payment.

It's about 13 acres large and has 500 meters shoreline, lots of fruit trees, vegetation and a soccer field. It was originally built as a country side residence for a wealthy businessman from Oslo in 1887 and was turned into a campsite in 1941/42.

In certain seasons there's a schedule and routines to follow, though still with plenty of time to explore the nature around or visit Oslo. The help is partly independent (or with other helpers) off season and the schedule is more flexible.

You are expected to keep all common areas clean and tidy and welcoming for our guests, staff and other volunteers. It's important for everybody's well-being and to avoid small grudges about who's doing what.

We have a nice workshop here and lots of projects requiring a carpenter. If you are a professional carpenter we will always try and make space for you!

The rooms are very basic, but kitchen and the rest is spacious.

You are also welcome to use our boats, canoes, SUP's and kayaks to check out our beautiful surroundings. A pair of old cross country skis for the winter experience, always a fun challenge for beginners:-)

We need you to take initiative, be self- propelled, have the basic skills and understanding of practical tasks, take pride in the help that you offer, and of course be friendly :-)

We are privileged to have many people who'd like to stay with us, long-term is preferred.

We're looking forward to hearing from you!

    Best regards,

    Ingrid, Tor Magnus, our son Herman (2,5y) and Hedvig (10months) + a cat, 2 goats, 3 rabbits, 10 hens and 1 rooster 🐥 :-)
