  • Description

Hello from Romania! Being a nomad at heart, I've always been drawn to new experiences and environments, which has made me a jack of all trades.

When people ask me what I do, I always say I'm a composer, but that's just half the story. Some of the highlights of my journey include working in construction - building houses and renovating, playing music in various bands in Bucharest, working as a receptionist and front desk manager in two top hostels in Bucharest, and writing modern classical music.

I'm very organized and dependable. Whatever task is in front of me, you can be sure I'll do it well. I'm serious about my work and I also have plenty of experience with booking platforms and managing money.

The reason I'm on Workaway is that I feel a need for adventure. I want to see new places, meet new people, learn new things, and make some friends along the way.

In my early twenties, I worked for three years in construction. I was doing real construction work, building houses and renovating. It was pretty hard work, but I learned a lot.

From 2013 to 2015, I was working as a musician, playing bass and guitar in and around Bucharest with various bands or artists.

In 2015-2016, I got a job as a receptionist at a hostel in Bucharest called Pura Vida. Back then, they were doing pretty well in terms of reviews. Eventually, I became the front desk manager and was in charge of all the people working at the reception. This was a pretty hard job, as managers basically work 24/7, but it made me very good with people. It also gave me a clear understanding of how hostels and hospitality in general work.

From 2016 to 2018, I decided to go back to my passion for being a musician. I started writing modern classical music, and in 2017, I launched my first album.

From 2018 to 2020, I worked as a receptionist at what was considered the best hostel in Romania at the time—Podstel. This was a great time in my life where I met a lot of people from all over the world. At Podstel, the reception included bar work, where we would make tea (so much tea), coffee, and some light cocktails. At the hostel, I hosted a weekly event called "Skip the Small Talk" where we would have some very interesting discussions, with me moderating. I hosted this event for months and months, every week. It was quite popular. I also hosted the Open Stage Night, when guests and locals would share their talents with us. It was always a very fun time. Plus, from time to time, I would cook for our regular Family Dinner event. It was usually some hearty recipe, which worked for a few dozen people. My best recipe was always the Mayan Couscous.

From 2020 to 2025, I've been making music again and working on and off in various places around my hometown of Curtea de Arges.

Since May 2025, I've started doing Workaway. This took me to some quite far-away places, but it was such a great time. I met wonderful people and learned some new things along the way.
