Description
We are a registered cultural nonprofit organization centered on an historic manor estate high in the mountains in the heart of Slovenia.
We offer our villa for events as a warm and welcoming cozy space in nature where people can think, dance, imagine, create, breathe, walk, help and contribute to a better world all while enjoying fresh produce & local cuisine, friendly people and crisp clear mountain air.
We have friends, family & guests from all over the globe come here to help with harvests, planting, projects and events. We run a small funky barn honky-tonk and a larger outdoor natural amphitheater performance space.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Our house is open to the world and we have dozens of travelers visiting all months of the year from all over the globe who share their stories, food, ideas, information and opinions.
We are very involved in our local community and there is a lot of interaction with our neighbors and other local arts and culture organizations.
We live in a cool place, in a wonderful country, surrounded by great neighbors that enjoy meeting and interacting with our guests. Even beyond our own events, there are usually lots of other cultural activities and events going on in the area so if authentic cross-cultural exchange is your thing, feel free to dive in and drink deep!Help
As this is a large old house and property we are always working on various maintenance and improvement projects.
For spring through fall 2025 we will be working on projects that include:
- refinishing wooden chairs & tables
- creating a decorative artistic design for an 16m x 2m concrete wall
- creating podcasts and video productions featuring aspects of our community
- adding local hiking trails to our Komoot profile
- planting fruit and hardwood trees around the property
- repairing garden fencing and posts
- repairing an old grape arbor
We will also be working on social media to update and improve web, FB and other media platforms.
In the spring we typically prep the gardens, plant and get ready for summer projects.
From June to September we are busy putting on cultural events and hosting various groups who use the property for education, art and environmental seminars.
In the fall we will be harvesting, canning fruits and vegetables, as well as harvesting and storing firewood for the winter.
In winter we focus on indoor repair and improvement projects which include refinishing and repairing furniture, light interior painting, improving guest rooms, re-organizing storage areas, maintaining household systems, fixing broken equipment and general DIY preparations for spring.Languages

We have 5 rustic private bedrooms of various sizes. There is a large, modern kitchen with a large traditional bread oven, as well as a traditional wood stove and a modern electric range.
If you prefer, we also have field and forest camping spots with a solar outdoor shower and covered camping under the large hayrack.
We eat light self-serve breakfasts and lunches and share a larger group dinner in the evenings on the terrace. What else ...
We are pretty easy going and flexible so there is only one rule:
Leave every thing better than you found it; for all definitions of "thing". (ie. people, pets, rooms, food, supplies, refridge, tools, equipment, field, forest, neighbors, etc)A little more information

Chris, Cathy and their dog Auggie gave me a very warm welcome and I immediately felt like a part of the family. I saw Cathy only on my first day but I kept in touch with her during my stay. Chris is very friendly and always down for a light-hearted or deep conversation.
