    Description

We are an Australian family of four who live in suburban Hobart, on the edge of the bush. We both work and have two young children. We also have a big hairy dog who is very friendly and lovable. In our spare time we like to go on bushwalks (usually short ones!), visit local beaches, or putt around in our little boat. We would be happy to take you with us on short outings.

We have a modern, well insulated home with stunning views. There are walking tracks and mountain bike tracks through the bush behind our home. Our home is about 15 minutes into central Hobart by car, and we have a bus stop about 100m from our door.

    We are a non-smoking home.

We lived in Japan for more than 5 years and know it can be hard to meet locals when in another country. Stay with us and you will get to know local Australians who know their way around Tasmania.

  • Help

    Help

We are looking for someone to join us in April 2025, to help with general housekeeping, gardening and sometimes just hanging out with the kids.

Help around the house might involve general cleaning in the kitchen (e.g., cleaning the oven), cleaning windows, vacuuming (lots of dog hair!), tidying cupboards, doing laundry, mopping the floor, etc.

Gardening involves a lot of weeding. We also need to spread some mulch on the garden and topsoil on the lawn, which is quite physical work (pushing wheelbarrows and shovelling dirt).

Our kids are fairly independent but they love having workaway people in the house, to play with on the trampoline, or perhaps kick a ball and fly a drone with them!

If you like dogs, and are comfortable with a very big dog, you could take our dog for a walk in the mornings.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

A bus runs from our neighbourhood into the centre of Hobart, where you can explore the docks, museums, and history. Other highlights of Hobart include numerous bushwalking tracks on both sides of the river, an extensive cycle network along the river, and great food.
