We were able to house sitters for Dagmar and Robert over Easter. The two are such lovely, warm-hearted people who want for nothing. We stayed in the guest house and were well looked after. We immediately took the three lovely cats to our hearts and they loved being stroked and cuddled. Feeding the three was really easy and didn't require any work - food and fresh water, nothing more! The funny chickens were the next we were able to look after - feeding them their grains and giving them fresh water. Allowing them to go outside and counting them in the evening to make sure they were all back. As a thank you, the chickens gave us fresh eggs, which we took from their nests every day. A few plants inside and out were watered as needed. We had lots of free time and were able to enjoy the beautiful nature all around every day. We also had a car at our disposal for excursions or shopping, which we were happy to use to pick Dagmar and Robert up from the airport. We had a wonderful time house-sitting in your beautiful home. We stayed with Abraham, Clara and their beautiful family for 5 days. We would 100% recommend this Workaway experience if you are wanting to travel off the beaten path and experience local culture. Their home is situated in the middle of the rainforest and is very remote and great for connecting with nature. We loved the sounds and sights of the howler monkeys and the other animals in the forest. We spent our time helping out with weeding, gathering firewood and gathering food for the cows. In addition, we helped to teach English to their daughter Lesley which was a really rewarding experience. She is a very intelligent little girl who gets excited to share different foods with you! Clara's cooking is great and we enjoyed all the delicious foods provided and we never went hungry! It was very hot during our stay but they have a river on their property so we spent most afternoons swimming or hiding in the shade in an attempt to keep cool! We would have stayed longer but needed to go to Coban to fix our van which got damaged (not majorly, just a small fix) on the long 25km dirt road into the property - the road is completely doable if you take it slow however! Thanks for the experience and we look forward to hosting you on your way up to Alaska!

Giorgia is a really nice person, easy going and worker. We couldn’t spend lot of time together but the time we were together was worth it. My experience with her was very Good so I highly recommend her. Thanks for everything

I had a great experience here with the family and other workawayers. I think the profile and reviews are quite accurate. Generally the work was either gardening or construction and the attitude is relaxed. You can definitely work on your Spanish as well, although the volunteers tend to speak English together. I would definitely recommend bringing your own fruit to add to breakfast, but otherwise the food is good as well - every day there's veggies from the gardens plus your choice of rice/pasta and beans/lentils/soy protein. It's easy to eat a plant based diet there, just double check the ingredients in the bread / margarine before you assume anything. Best of luck with the coffee plants!

Mein Feedback kommt leider etwas spät, aber lieber spät als nie! Es war so so schön bei euch zu sein! Svenja und Christian sind wirklich humorvolle, liebenswerte und authentische Personen (Jonte und Lotta natürlich auch)! Ich habe jeden Tag bei euch genossen und bin sehr dankbar für eure Offenheit und euer Vertrauen. Ich habe mich direkt Willkommen gefühlt und das Landleben war eine sehr schöne Abwechslung zu meinem Alltag:) Die meiste Zeit haben Svenja und ich zusammen gearbeitet und morgens die Ställe sauber gemacht und andere Variierende Aufgaben erledigt. Sie hat sich immer um mein Wohlbefinden gekümmert, und wenn ich mal eine Pause brauchte, war das völlig in Ordnung. Ich kann einen Besuch hier nur wärmstens empfehlen! Man ist nicht nur von wunderschöner Natur und süßen Tieren umgeben, sondern auch von wunderbaren Menschen.Ich freue mich schon bald mal wieder zu kommen und wünsche bis dahin nur das beste🫶

My partner and I had initially planned to spend two weeks with Ania and Giuseppe. Unfortunately, from the day we arrived, we realized that the environment was quite different from what we had expected. When we got out of the car the day we arrived, we were immediately greeted by an overly excited dog that jumped on us and nipped at us, which felt completely overwhelming. Later, we discovered that Workawayers only had access to an outdoor kitchen, which had to be used even in windy or bad weather conditions. Additionally, there was no Wi-Fi available, a fact that hadn’t been sufficiently communicated beforehand (from both sides). Since I rely on stable internet for my part-time job, this posed a significant problem. Driving to the city every afternoon to work from an internet café wasn’t a feasible solution due to the time and expense involved. The sleeping arrangements in the dome were also quite different from what we had imagined. The tent lacked proper ventilation, making it extremely hot during the day and uncomfortably cold at night. On top of that, there were many insects and ants inside the tent, which added to our personal discomfort. While this off-grid setup might be perfect for those seeking such an experience, it wasn’t the right fit for us. Regrettably, we didn’t feel comfortable and decided to leave earlier than planned. We understand this may have caused inconvenience for Ania and Giuseppe, and we are truly sorry for that. However, we believe it’s important for hosts to be prepared for situations where Workawayers might not feel at ease, fall ill, or need to leave early due to personal reasons. Workawayers shouldn’t be seen as a necessary workforce but rather as additional support. We wish Ania and Giuseppe all the best with their projects, and we hope this feedback helps to improve communication and the overall experience for future Workawayers.

I stayed here for almost three months, and I would say it was a life-changing journey. In my everyday life, I’m just a normal person — I never thought I was someone special who could receive so much love from others. But after coming here, I started to discover who I truly am and what I want in life. It was the beginning of my spiritual journey. During these three months, I received so much love. Everyone I met liked me and gave me so many compliments, telling me that I’m a special person in this world. I’m incredibly grateful that Ale accepted my request to stay. He truly cares about all of us. He might act like a tough guy, but deep down, he has such a soft heart. Besides that, I met so many lifelong friends here. When they left, I felt so sad, because I know there may never be another journey quite like this. We were young and a little reckless, gathering and living in Tenerife for the summer — but I’ll carry these beautiful memories with me always. This is a treasure of my life. Thank for all of people that i have met. love you allll;)

My stay at Gail’s homestead was wonderful! Gail is a multi-tasking, creative genius. I cannot believe all of the things she does and does well! She welcomed me and my dog, Mojo, into her home and was flexible with the tasks that needed to be done based on my skills and comfort level with all of the animals. If you’re looking for an active workaway experience, Gail’s homestead is the perfect place, as there is always something to do. I am so very grateful to Gail for giving me the opportunity to stay in her beautiful home that has a mountain and forest view from her kitchen window! Thank you so much Gail for everything! 🪴🐶

The two friends Ronja and Sarah stayed with us in winter. They found a good balance finding joy in skiing/snowboarding and working diligently and responsible on their own. They where in for any kind of work with initiative and power and they found solutions to any problems or questions. For example they came up with a menu plan to make my picky eater kids and mom as happy as possible. Me and the kids enjoyed their presence, their laughs and discussions a lot. We'd love to see you again in future Sarah and Ronja :-)

Excellent experience. He helped a lot with the hostel's tasks. His social networking was incredible. Our guests had very good expectations about Erik. He's a hardworking and pleasant person

At first, Barbara intend to stay for at least 2 weeks at our campsite and end up staying for a month. For the host out there, i can verify that everything that the other host put the review of her is pure honest from their experience which is same with me. She mingle with all of our guest that stay there and she's pretty good at almost everything. She's really independant and cook many dishes that i always enjoy it. She also cook her special dishes like the apple pie, carrot cake and of course the polish dish called pierogi. She also doing all the maintenance work at the campsite and even finish the project of making the bamboo wall for the common area that we just finish built it. She also mingle with our neighbours and always help them especially wrapping the local traditional fermented rice we call 'tapai' and also 'pulut dakap' which is sticky rice with banana inside. My neighbour really like her that they always call her to go their house. She also learn the local culture and even have the chance to wear our woman traditional cloth called the 'baju kurung'. We will always remember her and also our house is always open for her to come again.

It was wonderful with Ana and Ando! This was my first Workaway experience, and I couldn’t have wished for a better one. I really enjoyed the work and learned a lot of new things. They also took me everywhere with them, so I was able to truly immerse myself in Italian life, improve my Italian skills, and get to know the Romagna region. They are both fantastic musicians, and I absolutely loved listening to them and playing music together. They are truly amazing and super nice! I will always look back on this experience with fond memories and hope to come back one day! Thank you for everything <3

Yuto was a great volunteer. He was very easy to work with, responsible, and helpful. Communication with other volunteers and participants was always kind and positive. I’m thankful for his support and would gladly host him again.

Javi is honestly one of the best host ever ! His kindness and good energy made me feel immediately at home. The work was varied and he is always trying to make sure people are satisfied with the tasks they're given. And the fridge was always full of food ! I loved spending my time with the other workawayers, exploring the beautiful beaches around the area, or playing with the crazy cat. I would definitely come back if I get the chance. Gracias Javi

estoy completamente de acuerdo con los comentarios anteriores: es un lugar realmente maravilloso. es muy agradecido y significativo trabajar con los animales, darles amor y recibir amor a cambio. poder pasar tiempo de trabajo y tiempo libre junto con una comunidad de otros voluntarios hace que todo sea perfecto. estuve allí con mi propia autocaravana, lo que funcionó muy bien. estoy muy agradecida por haber podido trabajar en el refugio durante casi cinco semanas y por haber vivido momentos tan maravillosos con los animales y los humanos.

Pasamos dos semanas con Pablo, de las cuales unos tres días los pasamos en Mollendo con su cariñosa madre. Allí la ayudamos un poco con la renovación de una habitación. Aunque parte de la información del perfil ya no está actualizada, pasamos unos días maravillosos y enriquecedores en el Huerto Fausttroll de Arequipa. La distribución de tareas fue clara y fácil de manejar. A mí (Clara) el lugar me pareció especialmente inspirador, ya que revitalizó mi vena creativa. Como sólo trabajábamos unas tres horas al día, teníamos que abastecernos, lo que no supuso ningún problema gracias a la tienda cercana. Pablo es una persona muy abierta con la que es estupendo filosofar. En definitiva, el local tiene un ambiente especial, ofrece mucha variedad y siempre le puede venir bien una mano para desarrollar aún más su potencial.

Nico and Milo stayed with us for a month to help open up the farm for the upcoming season. I can’t say enough about their abilities, attitude and pure passion. They both have an eye for details that made setting them on a task easy. Meticulous and mindful of their surroundings made working together delightful. A very intelligent person he asked the right questions and made helpful suggestions. Milo is a wiz with organizing and wasnt afraid to get elbows deep into any project. He found many tools that I wasn’t sure how they worked and showed me how to use them ! An asset to any homestead needing help, I highly recommend him !

Nico is very intelligent she asked the right questions and made helpful suggestions. A real sweetheart and quick learner she was able to expertly complete projects with such care and passion. An asset to any homestead needing help, I highly recommend her !

What a sweet and peaceful experience! I came in Su & Wolfgang's house during only one week, first a bit afraid of being not that much useful but they welcomed me anyway. Everything is as written: you will live in a small old house and work to maintain a huge garden. It's not really necessary to be experimented for this work. You can manage your time as wanted so for me it was: waking up around 8:30, have a breakfast (with the coffee already made on the table by Su!!!), start working at 10:00, have a lunch break around 13:00, go back to work at 14:00 and stop at 16:00. Su will take care of your stomach believe me! Every dinner was really nice and complete. You will also live with a dog and a cat, both of them really sweet. The cat is the kind of cat that REALLY wants to be cuddled. Su & Wolfgang will also be good at giving you cultural recommandations and singing suddenly together eyes in the eyes. There is a lot of love between them, it's really nice to see that. What you need to know is that it's a really little village without coffee or restaurant. You are close from Berlin by train but except that, it's not that common to meet people. So, if you want a typical experience, to feel in a family (and maybe tasting bretzel & other great German dishes), 100% recommanded.
