I have been teaching English in Madagascar for the past year, before having worked at a luxury boutique hotel in the UK. My volunteering journey began in 2022, when I worked on a youth empowerment program in a Fijian village as part of a university scheme. I realised that I received a higher standard of hospitality than I could ever give anyone in my hotel. And those giving it, expected nothing in return. I am interested in sustainable development that does not erode local culture, and hoping to build my own longer term project in the future.

I feel myself to be outgoing and confident, whilst respectful and polite. As a philosophy and religion graduate, I am particularly fascinated with different modes of spirituality around the world.

My experience of volunteering began in my local charity shop at home and so far has only extended to a month long Youth Empowerment project in Fiji. However, I am hoping with this next project to put down roots, make connections, learn a new language and genuinely become integrated into a new mode of life. All whilst hopefully, offering something similarly as valuable to those I am learning from
