    Description

Ideally from around the 20th of April for one month. Can be longer if all matches.

I offer a lovely housesitting (and animal sitting..) experience in a comfy tiny house in the middle of olive trees for one month. The nature here is amazing, the sea just few minutes away and the beauty of the region quite unique. The place can be all yours (and there can be a motorino a friend would lend) so you’ll be fully indépendant. Main mission is to give love and care to my dog Agua (and 3 cats and chicken) but also to help maintaining the garden a bit. I need someone trustful, reliable and who loves the idea of living a bit off the grid (but in a comfy way and in a very safe spot).

Obviously open also for couples. Motivation is the only tool you need :)

    Warmest!
    Charlie

    (old announce)
Hey there, thanks for your interest.

I made this account a year ago, mostly in the idea to welcome some travelers from time to time in the countryside house we are renovating in southern Sicily. The place is pretty magical, and the work goes on slowly but the house is definitely cozy and offers a lovely lifestyle as much during warmer periods as in winter. We try to live as eco-friendly as possible (no AC..). The project is shared, but it’s mostly me who is here, occasionally with some friends. From now on we are considering also house sitting during our absence for some period, with a trustful person/couple or family who know to enjoy the countryside lifestyle including taking care of our dog Agua. The person would have to have a driving license.

The house has two small bedrooms (one would be yours) or there is a tiny house on the finishing if you prefer to have your own space. The food is mostly from local producers or self-produced (during summer mostly) as we have lots of organic veggies in the garden and also daily organic eggs. The water is from our source and definitely drinkable. :) the beautiful town of Scicli is 5 min away by car (15 by bike) and the sea almost the same.

    Warmest,
    Charlie

The place is on the countryside near Scicli, a truly beautiful area. The neighbours children bring much life to the place, and we're lucky to be surrounded by mostly genuine, simple and adorable people from the countryside.

    Help

We would be happy about different type of helps, but the first mission now would be helping with creating a covered structure for a bigger compost place and gardening.

There's one house which is 'finished' (still some external stuff and work to do.. but definitely finished inside). The room we can offer has a double bed, is cosy and charming. The second house still is getting renovated step by step but we have a beautiful independent tiny house where we welcome friends and travelers.
It is clean and comfy, with a bath tube and all you need; nature orientated it offers the experience of a simple and ecological lifestyle (dry toilets which are clean) and lots of space and nature around you.

During the periods of housesitting (when we are not there) and dog sitting, the house is yours. This means we offer the spot and pay the bills (internet and electricity etc) but you will have to manage your own food. You get fresh eggs every day from our coolest chicken. Of course what grows in the garden is all yours, but depending the periods this means there will sometimes be a LOT which grows, and sometimes little.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We don't follow stict rules, and therefore we think the best is always to let each one bring and share what he/she wants, and let things come as they'll come. On the principle we simply like the idea of sharing our lovely place and offering one of the room in return of some help (or the whole house during our absence if you watch and take good care of our dog). We imagine for exemple that 3 hours of help per day would be fair in exchange of lots of free time and a magical place for you.
