  • Description

Hi! I'm Silke, 23 years old and trying to find my place in this world. I enjoy spending time with friends, going to theatre or cinema, hiking in nature, playing some boardgames, reading a good book, going to a thrift store or cooking something vegetarian! I love challenges, stepping out of my comfort zone, and discovering new cultures, people, and environments. I enjoy philosophizing about life and observing life, preferably together with others. I feel best when surrounded by like-minded people, coexisting in a community filled with warmth.

  • More details about your skills

I recently graduated in Sociology and Gender & Diversity, and over the past years I’ve gained a lot of experience working with people in different contexts. In Antwerp I worked as a well-being “bridge figure”, where I worked with children and teenagers, listened to what they struggle with, and helped them find the right support. I also worked together with youth workers and local organisations, so I’m used to communicating clearly, solving problems and adapting to different situations.

I’ve always loved working in international and intercultural environments. I studied abroad in Krakow, joined Erasmus+ projects in Austria and the Netherlands, and did an internship in Zambia, where I organised and facilitated workshops and activities on gender equality. These experiences taught me to be flexible, open-minded and comfortable working with people from many different backgrounds.

I also have a lot of hands-on experience from student jobs: being a sports camp monitor, receptionist, city guide, restaurant team member and surveyor. These jobs strengthened my teamwork, responsibility, planning and people skills.

Because of my studies, I also have strong research skills: interviewing, collecting information, analysing data and writing clear conclusions. I enjoy combining this more analytical side with practical, everyday work with people.

In general, I’m someone who learns quickly, communicates easily and likes taking initiative. I enjoy helping out wherever needed and being part of something that brings people together.
