Hello!
I’m Shelley, an artist and illustrator based in the UK. I'm always looking for opportunities to travel and explore new opportunities. That's why I love the Workaway platform so much and have had many amazing and rewarding experiences over the years.
I've done 5 Workaways so far since 2022, the first as an au pair for a lovely family in Portugal, the second, working on a wonderful rescue horse farm that specialises in horse healing and the third teaching English to a range of ages at a language association in Veneto, fourth english teaching through play and taking care of children in Torino and the fifth was creating a large scale mural on the outside wall of the hosts farm.
I'm keen to seek more artistic opportunities so send me a message if you have any project ideas and you'd like to collaborate!
I’ve been a freelance artist for over 15 years alongside working with preschool aged children as an early years professional. I've also worked as a nanny and a counsellor at a summer camp in USA. Now I'm a personal tutor for college aged children.
I’ve travelled to various countries such as the USA, Asia, Australia and New Zealand and many countries within Europe, however my heart lies within Italy and I'm currently learning the language.
Whether it’s contributing my time and skills or simply sharing stories over a cup of tea, I love meeting likeminded people and learning from different ways of life. Connection, curiousity, creativity and compassion are some of my strongest values.
